We understood from the website of Asia rooms that we would be having a twin dormitory with shared facilities. When we got to the Pioneer Hotel however, we were told that we had to share not only the facilities, but also the room with two other persons and that if we didn't want to do that we would have to pay additional the same amount for the other two beds. This was not what we expected at all! The price was high enough already and we, as a couple, where most unpleasantly surprised by this. Having no extra funds, we opted to share, but it put a negative feeling to our time in Ayers Rock. Next time we'll probably go camping there, it's the cheapest place around!
The room was poorly cleaned as well, with lots of dust around on the floor. the facilities where clean enough for budget travel.

| "The choice of accomodation at the Ayres Rock resort is fairly limited. We chose the Voyages Outback Pioneer Hotel mainly on price. However we were more than happy with the service, room, facilities and staff. I'd recommend this hotel to any of my friends without hesitation." |

| "We really enjoyed our stay at the Outback Pioneer. The rooms were a nice size and it is in very close proximity to the Olgas and Uluru. What was really fun was the "cook your own" BBQ and the food was very tasty. " |

| "a clean " YMCA" for the price of a four-five stars hotel in Sydney or Paris..... Wellcome, you are in Yulara Hotel Resort and the Outback Pioneer Hotel is the less expensive.... the BBQ restaurant is OK and you can also cook yourself in a special kitchen if you want...and even if you have seen in photos the Rock a thousand times is something really great to see...something really strong in my mind now...
