If you're only staying a day or two, there's so much to cram in that there's no point paying extortionate rates for a hotel room you'll barely see. The budget room with bathroom was fine for us - it has a good shower and a fridge which are the two things you'll want the most!

"a clean " YMCA" for the price of a four-five stars hotel in Sydney or Paris..... Wellcome, you are in Yulara Hotel Resort and the Outback Pioneer Hotel is the less expensive.... the BBQ restaurant is OK and you can also cook yourself in a special kitchen if you want...and even if you have seen in photos the Rock a thousand times is something really great to see...something really strong in my mind now... kind regards Didier ps: sorry for my poor english !!!! "My wife and I dined at the Outback BBQ on both nights we stayed. First night: I ordered t-bone steak with onions and the staff member asked "You want two barramundis, sir?" Say WHAT!!!!!!!?????? Second night: I ordered one salad bar PLUS one extra salad bar and an additional emu sausage. I was asked if I wanted two salad bars plus an emu sausage meal. I went through the process a second time, was charged for one salad bar. I asked where was my second meal and was given a small bread and butter plate. Still no alteration to the price. I advised the staff member I would try again, asked for two salad bars and one additional emu sausage with one of them. The staff member finally got the message, charged me accordingly, and I commented to her that wasn't all that difficult, was it? And she called me rude. I believe I had every reason to be short, but rude? I don't think so. The staff member was not unintelligent, I don't think, a little unprepared to listen, I DO think. My orders could not have been put in more simple terms, and, I add, on two separate nights to two different staff members. The area was neither busy nor noisy on either occasion. For the price of a 'cook-it-yourself' meal I think we can expect a bit better than that."

"This was a nice place to stay, the accommodation wasn't too bad, and then scenic views were excellent, you can see both Ayers Rock (Uluru), and the Olgas (Kuta Tjuta), by walking up a very small hill (less than one minutes). Really nice place to stay, with a music entertainment in the evenings. The staff are friendly and you get a free shuttle service from the airports to your hotel and back again, which was really good. I would go back again."

"We enjoyed our stay very much, though for the price paid, considered the room rather small and crampled for three people. Finding our way to and from the rstaurant in the dark was a bit of a problem."

"Couldn't find reception as there was no sign. Very poorly lit when walking from the restaurant to our room at night. No bath plug and unable to obtain one to ease sore muscles after many hours walking and scrambling over rocks. Found a small scorpion in the bathroom a centipede and a spider on the day we left. "
