"Unfortunately there aren't too many choices of hotels in Ayers Rock. Sails in the Desert is touted as the best but it did not measure up to the standards of comparably priced hotels elsewhere. We were able to get a great rate through Asia Rooms but it was still not a good value considering the facilities of the hotel. The rooms are very basic, the restaurants very pricey and the grounds mediocre. The patio furniture was dirty with cobwebs on the chairs. The staff though was very friendly and helpful and that was a plus. They accommodated us with a hospitality room after we had to check out so that we could clean up after our tour that day. On the whole they could do a lot to warrant the prices they charge."

"I'm probably not the right person to write an unbiased review about this hotel. We originally had 2 spa rooms booked, one for myself and my husband and the other for our 2 teenage children. It was quite expensive however we were told that there were no rooms available to take the 4 of us and we wanted the weekend to be memorable. When we arrived the hotel had upgraded one of the rooms to the Presidential Suite... now you can understand why I am biased. Unbeknown to the hotel, our baggage had missed the connecting flight and wouldn't be arriving until sometime the next day so we did have to spend more time than we planned in our rooms. It was fabulous having a private spa on the balcony in the spa room and all the extra space in the Presidential Suite. It definitely gets my vote."

"The Hotel as such is very good, the rooms are clean and spacious, on our wish we were given 2 rooms on the upper floor which we appreciated very much. The food at the buffet dinner is very good but the whole dining area lacks a bit of atmosphere - rather cold, not only due to exessive climatisation. The only critical remarks concerns the tour help desk: the help desk is not a help desk because on every question the girl attending the tour desk tells you to have a look at the multitude of broshures - for that you don't need someone. The tours offered are rather disappointing and way to expensive. Too little time at the spot - very poor explanations - not very convincing. Better take a rental car (if you are lucky to get one) and tour the area on your own."
