We were told by Brisbane based friends that this is the best hotel in the city. We found it desperately in need of renovation. In our room the window blinds fell off as we tried to raise them on fist entering the room, the temp control in the shower was broken and the water temp in the bathroom (bath ans shower) was dangerously hot. On checkin we found the concierge extremely unhelpful with sourcing a wheelchair for my use - the ONE the hotel owned was aleady in use - and he was unable to offer any help in obtaining another!! Room service was sloppy - the rooms were serviced at any time up to 4pm; preference obviously being given to making up checked out rooms than those in occupation. The reception staff demonstrated a very casual manner when sone of these problems were bought to their atttention. The breakfast food was dreadful in both restaurant areas with the muesli appearing to be dilued with hard nuts and chewy dried fruit and the buffet food being cold.
Our friends met us for a drink in the hotel bar before going elsewhere to eat (thank goodness) and commented that if the service there was anyway to judge the hotel, they would e giving it a miss too!!! These complaints are going to be known amongst both the business and social community locally where our friends mix. A very disappointing hotel.
