I liked the location of the Cairns Colonial Club Resort and the facilities were good. The staff were efficient and friendly and the restaurant was also good.
I was disappointed with the quality of accommodation. The room I stayed in was in my opinion below standard and in need of a make over. The bed linen was also old.I understand from talking to other guests that a re-furbishment programme had been started.

| "We have stayed at the Colonial Club 6 times now and the standards have remained excellent, they have a bus that takes you into the city every hour which is free and bus for tranfers to and from the airport. The staff are all friendly and very helpful." |

| "although some of the complex is tired and in much need of some tlc (which is underway) our stay was excellent. the location, although not in the city, was perfect. the hotel provided a bus service into cairns throughout the day so shopping and sight seeing was made easy.
the staff, without exception, were friendly and very helpful." |

| "The Cairns Colonial Club's position was excellent - a tropical rain forest a natural pool and good restaurants.
The staff were friendly and helpful and the courtesy coach into the town and airport was of excellent service.
The down side, is relating to the room. It was very clean, but had a funny smell about it and did indeed need some TLC i.e. upgrade as it was sad looking. Also the main foyer needed a feather duster in the large atrium as there were quite a few cob webs about. But in saying that I would recommend this hotel to friends as it was recommended to us and would stay there again, but the air journey over 25 hours might not allow this as we are now senior citizen and getting on in years. We would have loved to have stayed longer and had less time in Sydney and added it on to our Cairns leg of the holiday, but this wasn't to be.
The staff do an excellent job and the laundry area is a boon to travellers and everything worked. Maureen Reidy" |

| "We have stayed at the colonial Club on a number of occasions, the standards are always excellent, this infact, is the best place we have ever stayed in Australia, we were upgraded to a superior room as we are colonial club members, but as the hotel as been taken over by another company now, I don't know what it will be like in the future and neither do the staff we spoke to about it." |

| "It is a lovely hotel. Although, it is a quite old Resort and a bathroom's door was damaged, it has a lot of fun. All the staff are very friendly. We have had a very good time especially for the kids! " |

| "We stayed here for two nights after flying in from the UK. It was a good place to start the holiday. The staff were helpful and the hotel met our expectations and proved to be ideal for what we wanted. The only thing I would add is that it is a little way outside of Cairn centre but the hotel do provide a shuttle bus and taxis are reasonably priced." |
