| "The hotel is at the end of the Esplande, walking distance to the Lagoon Pool, shops, Restaurants and the boats that leave to Green Island and the Great Barrier Reef.
The hotel was really nice but they charged for everything else." |

| "The Rydges Resort is at the end of the Esplanade which is a good walk down the boardwalk to all of the shops and is at the opposite end of the Lagoon Pool and Great Barrier Reef Cruises. The hotel was nice but offered no ammenities for the price. The in-room safe was $3.50 a day, after paying the room rate, why not include it in the rate? The towels that you take to the Reef cost, I could see if you didn't return them....it's like everything is A-La-Carte after the room rate.
The staff was very friendly and helpful and the shuttle service was prompt and on-time.
Good location to the airport and downtown." |

| "The Rydges Esplanade is located on the far end of the Esplanade -- away from most of the hustle and bustle. It is about 5+ city blocks from the area where most of the restaurants and shops are located on the Esplanade, although a convenience store is located on the Rydges compound. We had a 2 bedroom apartment with a living and dining room, two balconies, full kitchen, washer/dryer, and 2-1/2 baths. The accomodations were well kept and roomy. We had a terrific view of the ocean. The staff was extremely helpful and courteous. I would highly recommend this hotel / apartment complex despite its distance from the Esplanade 'central' area." |

| "Absolutely amazing accommodation! I would thoroughly recommend the Rydges Esplanade Resort to anyone. The rooms were more than adequately spaced, even for three college girls with all their clothes spread out over the floor! The bathroom itself seemed to occupy a giant area, and the view from the balcony was phenomenal. The staff there were always happy to help, and even managed to put up with room service calls for food at all hours.
With Cairns centre being just a short walk away and a handy supermarket around the corner, you are rarely bored within a 10km vacinity of the hotel. However, the staff are more than happy to advise visitors about the many trips that run daily, and nightly, from right outside the hotel.
Also, the hotel is well equipped with an ice machine to stop the heat from becoming too much of a problem.
All there is left to say is that the breakfast is a definate must! They make full English breakfast better than the English themselves!" |

| "located 15 to 20 minutes walk from center. Rydges Esplanade hotel provides a shuttle bus but with limited time schedule. Lobby is small considering the guest traffic of the hotel. It's like a market in the morning with people checking in or out and the guests that are leaving for their day tours. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable. All the basic amenities are available. If not for the location, i would give this hotel a rating of 9" |
