| "This hotel was excellent value for money; it was clean and beds where comfortable; good service from the staff who were always courteous and helpful. Very central. would recommend it to travellers. I'll recommend that staff inform customers where the lift is situated so that cases are not carried down the stairs, as we had to do when checking out in the early hours of the morning. Otherwise, brilliant." |

| "The Cairns is a throwback to the colonial days of the Far East with all the modern amenities you could want. The Plantation Room we stayed in was spacious with a large and comfortable bed. The facilities in the bathroom were very good, but this is where, strangely, the wardrobe space is located. The level of service was excellent but not intrusive.
The location is good as it is a short walk to the noisier Esplanade. The restaurant serves a very good, if expensive, continental or buffet breakfast and whilst the dinner menu seemed limited, the food was excellent.
My one gripe is that although there is a lift, in our case, we still had to struggle with stairs to our room. " |

| "Found this hotel very clean with friendly staff. Hotel situated on corner of busy road and only two storeys high. Road traffic noise quite high paticularly at night and early morning. Room facilities good. Swimming pool very small and it was also sheltered from sun most of the day. Restraunt and bar facilities quite good. We hired car and hotel has secure underground parking facilities." |

| "This hotel was good value for money and in a good location, it also looked attractive. The only minus point was the lack of drawers in the room." |

| "The room was large and spacious enough for our family. Having the extra beds in the room was very nice. The location was great for walking to the Esplanade. The only downside was the bathroom - tiny, tiny, tiny, and the shower sprayed all over the bathroom and got everything soaked unless it was directed directly down at the drain." |
