The Lakes Resort and Spa is fantastic. It is a well thought and laid out resort, lots of lovely swimming pools and all the facilities you could want. The apartment was great, with washing machine, tumble drier, dishwasher, spa bath as well as all the usual things! The staff always bent over backwards to help and the daily servicing of the room was extremely thorough. Although the resort is not right in the centre of Cairns there is a regular shuttle bus in and out of the centre. The resort is very close to the airport and is under the flight path, but we were NEVER disturbed at night as the flights stop at night, and it is not a busy airport. If I am ever in Cairns again, I will DEFINITELY be staying here.

| "All in all a really nice resort with a good standard of accommodation. We didn't use the restaurant but the bistro had a reasonable choiceon the menu and prices weren't bad considering you have to off site to eat otherwise. Slight downside is the distance outside of Cairns which either requires a taxi (about $15 each way) or the courtesy bus (bit of a surprise that we had to pay for each journey - I imagined that "courtesy" would be free of charge. If your a family of 4 it's cheaper to get a taxi)
Other than that minor criticism we had an excellent few days and would definitely recommend it.

| "Excellent location if you want to be out of the centrre of Cairns but close enough.
A 40 minute walk or a 2 min cab ride for $10-$12.
Minutes from the airport and about $10 - $15 in a cab.
Great facilities and pool area's, kept very clean.
Apartments are very, very spacious" |

| "Very happy with the hotel. The service was first class. The room was clean and spacious with a great outdoor room overlooking a lagoon. The facilities are great. There are numerous swimming pools to choose from and they are well set up for kids. A small playground, a gym, a tennis court, a lap pool, a massive spa. This hotel has got the lot!
The only downside is that it is quite far from the city but they do provide a shuttle bus that leaves every 45 minutes for a reasonable price." |

| " A very pleasant surprise, a real gem. Fantastic, spacious rooms, with a lot of storage and luxury, such as 2 basins in the bathroom, spa facility in the bathtub, beautiful, fully equipped kitchen, a separate living room and bedroom. And it`s all set in a tropical village atmosphere, with a number of beautiful swimming pools within the resort. You get a few vouchers as well (discounts for take-aways, etc...). It`s definitely value for money when it comes to the rooms, not quite sure if that applies to the 2 restaurants within the resort.
But overall the room and the setting were an absolute treat, clean and stunning. We would definitely return, please God.
