| "Overall the experience was good. The resort and location where great. The weather really made it difficult to truly enjoy the experience.
The biggest issue was the roof leaked during the rains. " |

| "We stayed here for 3 nights before Christmas .It was a very mixed experience which I shall explain..........We were due to go to the Ferntree, travelling as a family with two kids, 9 & 12. This was changed to the Coconut without us knowing and we are not convinced it was an upgrade in OUR circumstance. The reason for the upgrade we found via Kuoni on our return to be a lie, very disappointing as we made our comments known to the Manager and his lady assistant who could not give a corroborating answer between them ! Anyhow, onto the resort. This hotel is NOT for kids, couples yes but the facilities & shop on site are limited for kids as was the food for them. The adult food was excellent but limited in choice. On the plus side, the pool was unreal and absolutely fabulous, this is one of the best pools you will ever relax in. Warm clean and with unbelievable views of the rain forest. They organise a trip to Mackay Reef for snorkelling & diving, 20 people on a boat and almost private reef, again unbelievable experience nothing like the other co's offer such as Quicksilver. This is real Barrier Reef ! On the down side, the wooden huts for rooms are pretty basic, no A/C (unlike Ferntree that we had booked)
You are also isolated from Cape Trib and need to get the shuttle-not free, to get anywhere. It is possible to walk but the road can be dangerous and it can be too hot.A car would be good but we were on a huttle from Cairns Airport.
Don't get me wrong, we would go again but as a couple for which a romantic few days with relaxation guaranteed and an upgrade to the best room would be idyllic." |
