"My wife and I stayed there for 1 week and having spent various holidays in different locations around Asia, we were disappointed by the comparatively low standard (although we know that the Australian way of living means something completely different) and value of the facilities given the price. More specifically, for the price we had paid you could get a spacious villa with oceanview in Thailand, Malaysia or Indonesia. Having said that, Darwin is more the location for the adventure traveller than for the beach lover, hence one should not expect the same level of comfort. Hence, the usual Northern Territory visitor would more likely go for cheaper options (but we would not recommend backpacker lodges if more seasoned) but these are rather rare in Darwin and almost always fully booked. Nevertheless, the accommodation had all the necessary facilities and amenities and were properly attended to on a daily basis. On the other side, the hotel is on the brink of getting old and is definitively in need of a proper clean - especially the green atrium, although it is nicely made."

"staff were very friendly & helpful. the room was very quiet & air con was fantastic in the hot humid climate. we had a superior room which had a large bedroom & another large living area with a sofa bed for the children. two huge plasma tv's & my other half was happily able to watch afl. the pool are was pretty nice too. overall we were happy with our stay here. walking distance to the centre of darwin & mitchell st for takeaway food, restaurants & bars. the hotel is right on the esplanade where you can take & walk & watch the awesome sunsets. very happy to stay here after 2 weeks in a motor home with two little boys."

"The Hotel appearance was very dated - run down. Bathroom was very poor - every time we showered it flooded. Twice we had no hot water. General condition of room and furniture was ordinary!"

Comments:

Very much in need up an upgrade. Pool needs to be revamped. Room service was hard to get and once gotten, was wrong on both counts. Not good value for money.
