| "Overall, I had a quite satisfactory stay at Claremont. The service was exceptional - staff was always friendly and willing to answer any queries. At first i was disapppointed at look of the hotel and the size of the room because it really was small, but after consideration - it is perfect if you're on a budget holiday where you'll be out on the streets enjoying the sights of melbourne anyways. What i was suprised at was that Claremont is located conveniently close to not only the shops but tram stops and the train station. IF you are used to five star hotels then this is not the place for you. If however, you're interested doing as much sighseeing as possible and enjoying the melbourne scene then claremont is right up your alley! " |

| "overall is rather good but the room size is quite small. shared bath rooms and toilets are clean and close to the door. tourist information and daytrip programs are available at the reception (with friendly service). There also a book corner to share the traveller's book. I'd like to recommend for most backpacker." |

| "I've stayed in 5 star resorts to dodgy backpackers accommodation. Claremont is a guesthouse and was much better than I anticipated. It was welcoming, clean, hospitable and breakfast was great. For accommodation so cheap I was pleasantly surprised to walk into a place so welcoming.
Families would do well here if the kids were old enough to use the bathrooms on their own. Couples would be fine if they didn't want fine dining - they've got all of that in Toorak Rd. Seniors would be fine if they can manage stairs. " |

| "The building resembles a renovated boarding/dorm house. The rooms were sparsley furnished (bed, rack and tv - even curtains were ripped and dirty!!) and approximately the size of a small closet. There was a strong scent of ant/roach spray throughout the building. The website describing this establishment is extremely deceiving. I booked via the Internet and was so disappointed by the 'hotel' that I left.....without my money back as I did not fall within the 48 hour cancellation policy.
DO NOT STAY HERE. I'm not sure how the other two reviewers made their conclusions but if you are used to anything 1* and above you WILL BE DISAPPOINTED." |

| "Good location close to many bars, restaurants and facilities. Reasonable walk to central city. Single room very small and basic. However, very friendly staff and good free breakfast make it a good choice" |

| "I stayed at the Claremont recently, i found the Hotel to be excellent value for money, the room was more than adequate for my stay, and the breakfast was very good.
The hotel is ideally situated for public transport to the city and other destinations, as well as finding places for dining." |
