Overall hotel room is ok except for the toilet flush. We can handle the waiting time for the next flush to go but not the unpleasant service of the male staff who attended with our complain as we are the one who is trying to be polite and nice with him.
As a staff in customer service, he needs re-training.
Thanks

| "Wireless internet was not avilable in the room. Cable connection was available in the room, but costs 55 cents per minute of use. My computer would not accept cable hook up.
The staff were helpful in finding things to do around the city. The room required your key to get lights, which I was not familiar with. I really didn't like that, but I found other hotels in Australia had the same feature.
Hotel is close to Victoria Marktet where I found some great bargains." |

| "Ibis Hotel in Melbourne that i stayed is at Therry Street. The hotel is very near with the famous Queen Victoria Market and Swanston Street. The location is good, because i think it's not too hip and not too scary quiet.
In the morning, we can buy breakfast (such as sausages, bread, doughnut, etc) in the QueenVic Market (because the room payment wasn't included breakfast).
The room is pretty large, comfort, bright and clean. The facilities are also good enough. There were one standard queen-bed for two with clean bedsheet-cover and the pillows. flat-screen-TV, working desk, table lamp, a lot of spaces for storage or baggage, clothes cabinet, mini refrigerator, mini simple bar, water boiler, iron, ironing board, mirror (near the room door). The bathroom : clean, tidy, simple, large enough. There are timer in the shower (you can count on your 4-minute-shower to be remembered). It was purposed for supporting and saving the world energy (water). Don't forget the put your used towels on the floor when you were finished taking a bath, unless they assumed it a-still-ok-towel and they won't change it to the new one for you.
The minus of this hotel is only at the room service. i think the staffs are a little bit lazy.
Not like the receptionists, they are quick and well-done.
About the value, it was a reasonable price & i was satisfied with Asiarooms, but i think you have to check / make sure first about the exchange rate. This is my first experience with Asiarooms, i am glad because Asiarooms can be trusted. At first i was afraid, and i kept calling and asking questions to the customer service (haha). Now, i can trust Asiarooms. Thanks." |

| "overall my stay is ok. just want to highlight the service of the reception staff (night shift) has a lot of room for growth.
the first night we arrived, we tried to clarify a few things via the phone with your night staff Michelle, she was impatient, rude and unprofessional. in fact, my wife asked her about the safety box and got an unsatisfactory answer. so i called again. Michelle got so impatient thinking we did not understand her ( in fact, she told us the charge per night for the safety box was $4.95 , but the box itself stated $5.95. we also wanted to clarify how it works in terms of whether the $4.95 applies to the next 24 hours or up till 12am every midnight because there was no instruction written on the box! i.e. what does $4.95 mean??
so when i called up, Michelle was already annoyed, raised her voice and said " How many times do i have to tell your wife about the safety box???" and she told me rudely " can you hang on the line, i have to attend to my customer" and i was left on the phone for a few minutes. i was thinking, am i not her customer also?? shouldn't she politely tell me she had to attend to someone else and would call me later when she has settled her current customer?
mind you, australia is the only country i have been to where a hotel charges customers for the use of the safety box. all other hotels in other countries in Asia provide the service free of charge. So, since we are not from australia, is it a crime that we didn't understand how things work (mind you we are tourists!) do your customers deserve such rude treatment? i even asked her if this is IBIS corporate culture. no apologies given, in fact i had to apologise for her 'inconvenience'.
it seems your night shift staffs lack the most basic training and manners to deal with small issue like this.
The morning shift staff are much better. I would like to commend Rebecca who was helpful in various ways including helping us to book a taxi on time etc.

| "The reception staff were very friendly and helpful, only big problem with this hotel is the refurbishment works going on.. it is extremely noisy all day on the higher floors, you should be ok though if your on the lower floors. The location is good, a short walk from the main shopping areas. The information displayed on the website regarding the fitness facilities is misleading though, it is are not in the hotel, but the local fitness centre. This however is just up from the hotel and is very good, at a small cost of about $6 for use of both the fitness centre and pool, and less for just use of the pool. " |
