Travelodge in Melbourne is surpringly more upscale than Travelodge in the United States. Travelodge in the States are no more than a cheap motel, but in Melbourne, Australia, this is most comparable to Residence Inn, Fairfield....the Marriott hotel chains without the Marriott price. The location is perfect, separated from downtown Melbourne by a river with beautiful banks and shops, away from the crowd but only a bridge away to everything you want to see in town. The room is small but absolutely clean with kitchenette. The staff is helpful, very courteous and professional. The breakfast buffet is delightful. It was a truly unexpected pleasure. We would recommend this hotel to anyone.

| "We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights and found the place perfect to our travel preferences... room is neat and clean, and provided with microwave, water heater , small ref , a set of plates and utensils and some coffee/tea sachets. Places of interests are within walking distance, souvenir stores and supermarkets just around the corner . The hotel is quiet for sleepy and tired bodies and taxi easily accessible even at an early departure.. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED !" |

| "The hotel's service and location are exceptionally great except for a few unpleasantries such as the hairdryer and the heater not working or dusty.
Not to mention the internet facility at the lobby has too much website restriction. I paid $2 but not able to have my internet flight check-in due the website being blocked and i can't even get a re-fund." |

| "I had a very pleasant stay and would have no problem staying again.
I have only two point:
1. During the 5.30am fire alarm evacuation, no member of staff came out to make sure everyone was alright and to keep us informed about the situation.
2. A hotel bar would of been very welcome.
Hope this helps.
Regards
Steve Rhodes" |
