We had a short shopping spree holiday and found that the Travelodge was perfectly situated with only a short walk over the Yarra to Flinders Street. From there trams, trains, and buses were easily obtainable or simply walk up Elizabeth Street and enjoy shopping there. Eating in the Southbank Centre was also great. Lots of nice cafes and bristro bars as well as the larger food court.
The Hotel itself was clean and bright on arrival. We arrived quite early so were unable to check in straight away however we were able to process most of the formalities and leave our luggage.
Our room was a triple which was made up of two single beds and a fold out couch. To our suprise it was made up each day which was really nice to come back to after a hard day walking Melbourne.
Tea and coffee facilities were great as was the TV for light entertainment before heading out in the evening.
We found the staff very helpful, we had a luggage issue on arrival and they were most helpful in helping me source the right phone numbers to call.
Having the internet on site was also useful as we needed to contact home a couple of times and having phones in rooms; for making those dinner reservations.
My only grumble would be the breakfast, which we only had once. For $15.00 the buffet style breakfast offered plenty of variety but to our dissapointment most of what we selected was cold. I did mention this to the waitress, however we preferred not to try it again instead opting to eat on the Southbank esplande from then on and had some great value for money meals there.

| "We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights and found the place perfect to our travel preferences... room is neat and clean, and provided with microwave, water heater , small ref , a set of plates and utensils and some coffee/tea sachets. Places of interests are within walking distance, souvenir stores and supermarkets just around the corner . The hotel is quiet for sleepy and tired bodies and taxi easily accessible even at an early departure.. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED !" |

| "The hotel's service and location are exceptionally great except for a few unpleasantries such as the hairdryer and the heater not working or dusty.
Not to mention the internet facility at the lobby has too much website restriction. I paid $2 but not able to have my internet flight check-in due the website being blocked and i can't even get a re-fund." |

| "I had a very pleasant stay and would have no problem staying again.
I have only two point:
1. During the 5.30am fire alarm evacuation, no member of staff came out to make sure everyone was alright and to keep us informed about the situation.
2. A hotel bar would of been very welcome.
Hope this helps.

Will stay there again provided that we can again get an accommodation package.

| "This was a great hotel and in the best spot for almost everything, a very short walk to everything we wanted to do & see. Shopping, eating, meeting friends, sight seeing.
We were not doing any business this time but could see it would be ideal.
No views of the river but as we were out 99% of the time that was no problem.
