I had stayed at the Windsor before and loved it, but at least 15 years prior. The hotel is still grand and comfortable in a traditional style. The staff are very helpful and obliging. The common areas of the hotel are looking rather tired and in need of "deep cleaning" if not major redecoration. The furniture was obviously close to its use by date in the public areas and in the room. The bar staff were unable to make a basic Martini or a Bloody Mary which suggests poor training by the hotel management.
I would hope the hotel will spruce itself up very soon because the general condition was disappointing and the hotel is such a gem it deserves to be better kept up.
On my previous visit the bed was turned down and chocolates left on the pillow etc. That nicety was not evident this visit.

| "The rooms were slightly old fashioned. We had two single beds rather than two double/queen beds which we could have had since the room was large. Staff very friendly." |

| "Absolutley sensational. We had heard so much about the Windsor, and it certainly lived up to every expectation. Looking forward to the refurbishment next year. Well done Asia Rooms for a fabulous price." |

| "Two problems, (1) we stayed on the third floor and unfortunately the floor surface above must be made of wood because we could clearly hear movement, every time the person(s) above moved around their room (foot steps). The noise was such that it stopped us going to sleep in the eveninig and woke us in the morning. IF we stay in the Windsor again it would not be on the third floor.
(2) Dispite leaving the room at 1000 to tour Melbourne, with the please clean up our room sign on the door, when we returned at 4pm, to shower & change for dinner and a show, the room had not been serviced. We had to call for a service, which then required us to wait, and then we were rushed to get ready for our dinner booking at 5.30 and ultimately make the 7.30 show. " |

| "Service by all contacted was good and what is to be expected by this class of hotel.
Compared to the actual room size the bathroom was hopeless, 2 people could not move in it. No place to put personnel bathroom ammendities for 1 let alone 2 people.
The room overlooked an alleyway and every morning got woken by delivery & garbage trucks." |
