| "The rooms were slightly old fashioned. We had two single beds rather than two double/queen beds which we could have had since the room was large. Staff very friendly." |

| "Absolutley sensational. We had heard so much about the Windsor, and it certainly lived up to every expectation. Looking forward to the refurbishment next year. Well done Asia Rooms for a fabulous price." |

| "Two problems, (1) we stayed on the third floor and unfortunately the floor surface above must be made of wood because we could clearly hear movement, every time the person(s) above moved around their room (foot steps). The noise was such that it stopped us going to sleep in the eveninig and woke us in the morning. IF we stay in the Windsor again it would not be on the third floor.
(2) Dispite leaving the room at 1000 to tour Melbourne, with the please clean up our room sign on the door, when we returned at 4pm, to shower & change for dinner and a show, the room had not been serviced. We had to call for a service, which then required us to wait, and then we were rushed to get ready for our dinner booking at 5.30 and ultimately make the 7.30 show. " |

| "Service by all contacted was good and what is to be expected by this class of hotel.
Compared to the actual room size the bathroom was hopeless, 2 people could not move in it. No place to put personnel bathroom ammendities for 1 let alone 2 people.
The room overlooked an alleyway and every morning got woken by delivery & garbage trucks." |

| "This hotel is an absolute credit to its owners - and to Melbourne. I have never experienced such outstanding service in Australia, usually being subjected to some "attitude" or feeling that my request was an inconvenience. Not so in The Windsor - nothing was too much trouble and we were made to feel very special from the moment the doorman took our cases from the taxi when we arrived. Friendly, professional, knowledgable staff, who clearly really enjoy working in this iconic hotel.
Our first room was disappointing-reproduction "antique effect" furniture and a view of a back alley - a shame when we booked a deluxe room. It had the feeling of "grandma's front room" with doylies and lace. We were moved after one phone call to a magnificient, palatial room overlooking Parliament, with tasteful period furniture - more what I had imagined in staying at The Windsor. Two small points to work on - the (over) heating in our room was connected to the hotel's central system, with no individual control of temperature. This meant we were sweltering in our room, as the central heating system tried to counteract wintry Melbourne weather. It became sufffocating. Also, the bathrooms were more than adequate, but I had hoped for grand old marble bathrooms in such a building, rather than an 80s style shiny renovation, with one washbasin. It functioned, but did lack the character of the rest of the room. This could well be the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on - and what a treat having a separate dressing room, where we could dump all our winter clothes and still keep out beautiful living area tidy.
I lived in Melbourne for years and always wanted to stay in this hotel. Without doubt, it is now my hotel of choice when visiting my former home- a real piece of the city's history at rates charged by some boutique hotels with questionable service and pokey rooms. I know where my dollars will go from now on. " |
