| "I regret that the hotel does not provide the client with clear and precise instructions on how to operate the heating system.
The person who was in charge of the reception desk when I arrived on the 20th of april at midnight was very helpful. The other persons I had to deal with bedore my arrival were absolutely not helpful.

| "Except the location and size of the room, Criterion Hotel was not as good as expected. Service by the staff, except for 1 lady who helped with our check-in on the first day, the rest were quite lousy. The frontline staff do not seems keen in providing service to the guests, as they seems to be providing standard answers to requests or queries. Unlike other hotels that i have stayed in before, they go beyond their normal call of duty to make your stay as comfortable as possible.
When a request was made for some cold water to be sent to the room, the frontline staff told us that they do not provide such service and advice us to drink from the tap. This is fine, as we are quite used to drinking tap water in Singapore, but its really quite unbelieveable that a normal hotel as such do not provide water at the request of the guest. If its a backpacker hotel, this would be acceptable, but not one like Criterion.
Overall, the experience is not a fantastic one and I would not recommend Criterion Hotel, as i believe there are much better hotels in Perth at the same pricing." |

| "I like the hotel as it is really convenient to walk from the hotel to major bus stops at Barrack Street and the shopping block there. The room is clean and the beds are good. The bathroom and the shower is average but acceptable. There is no real windows in the room as the one small window high up on the wall faces the wall of the next building. Service is good at the reception counter. However, there is poor internet connection from the room and you have to go to the lobby to surf the net. The food at the Hotel Cafe is not very good but you can get to food outlets easily around the hotel. I would not mind staying with the Criterion Hotel again in the future. It is good value for money." |

| "This hotel is located in the middle of downtown, very convenient for shopping and bus ride, but the area is NOT very pretty especially at night. The building is very old with a bit scary hallways. The room is large, clean, and well-equipped. I felt a bit cold in July, so they brought in an electric heater right away. Ideal for budget-minded travelers. Internet is available for fees at the lobby." |

| "We did not get a very good feedback on our enquiry as the staff most of the time confused us with different kind of version of guidelines" |

| "Hotel was filthy along with room, restuarants and joining bar and toilets. Staff below average. Althou location was good, not worth the filth and noise from the kitchen fans that kept us awake at night. Surprised Asian rooms has this on their books as we stayed in Singapore and H Kong and the hotels were wonderful " |

| "The biggest plus point of this hotel lies in its superb location - a mere 1 min by foot to the city mall - Hay & Murray St Malls. The train station, Barrack St jetty (where you can catch a ferry to Fremantle or Rottnest Island) and major bus services are just a stone's throw away. There is also a free city bus service called the CAT (Central Area Transit) that stops just across the Criterion - great for tourists to hop on and off, at no cost at all. Additionally, there is a McDonald's and a mini-mart on the street level so stocking up (munchies that is) and staving off those hunger pangs are not a problem in the later hours.
Although the Criterion is a no-frills hotel, the room that we put up in was clean and comfortable. The staff also responded promptly when we needed a change of lightbulb and kettle. I was most amazed when Housekeeping called us back when we couldn't reach them!
Overall, our stay at the Criterion was a pleasant one! I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is travelling to Perth on a tight budget but wants to live in the city for maximum convenience! " |

| "Hotel location is near to Perth train station and also the shopping malls.
The room furniture is a bit old.
Hotel staff servie is average.
If you love to shop in the city, wanted to stay in the city and looking for an average hotel to stay, you may consider this hotel." |
