"Loved the location, etc, but was very disappointed with room we were given because we booked it last year in plenty of time, so that we could get some views of the harbour. Instead we got the back view of some hotels and street. When i mentioned this to the desk clerk she said that is all that was available. I think we should have been booked into a good room then and not left it to the last minute! Also when booking on line there is no provision for stating preference....even the phone number on the booking slip was a Hong Kong one, so i couldn't get through. Hope this will improve in the future if we were to stay again. Regards Liz "

"The location at Darling Harbour is fabulous - close to shopping, restaurants, monorail, light rail, casino Buffet breakfast is fine for $20 but no room service. Rooms are a bit small especially room with twin singles but we were updated to harbour view room which was much larger. "

"This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel and what can I say. The hotel as a base for Darling Harbour and the ferries is superb. A lot of attractions are virtually on the doorstep. Good access to restaurants, shopping, monorail, ferries, trams and trains. Also a lot cheaper than the hotels on the Rocks. A hidden gem."

"Perfect location close to monorail and city tour bus. Excellent transfer service to airport. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would certainly stay again and have already recommended to friends. Will also recommend to travel agent on return to U K."

"The best thing about this room was the view over Darling Harbour. The lock on the door did not work properly and we returned after being out all day to find that Housekeeping had not properly secured the door - our room had been accessible all day. The toilet cistern was almost impossible to operate. However both these faults were rectified immediately when reported to Housekeeping but perhaps should have been attended to before the room was let. The bistro is no longer operating and the breakfast was overpriced and unexciting. Overall the hotel is tired and old."

Comments:

I didn't spend much time at the hotel, but it served its function, which to me was a place to sleep, and get cleaned up for the next day. The TV was small, with just your basic free-to-air channels, and pay-per-view movies (poor quality). Had to ask for an iron, and the ironing board kept falling down! The bathroom was adequate in size. The room overall was a 5 minute walk to the Sydney Convention centre or to the Harbourfront shops. Would be a good place to stay for the business traveller.
