I forgot my camera and phone charger on the desk in my room at the Marriot when I checked out (jet lag?) and was so impressed when they 1. found it (so often the cleaning staff helps themselves to forgotten items) and 2. immediately packaged it up and mailed it to me in Tasmania.
this sort of service fosters loyalty in clients!
the concierge was also very helpful, I was travelling alone and appreciated the personal attention that I recieved

| "The Marriott is a beautiful hotel, right across the street from The Rocks and stunning views of the harbour bridge. Everything you need is nearby including the Sydney Rocks Tourist Information Centre, even though the concierge service was excellent in giving information also. We were on honeymoon in Sydney and really enjoyed our stay at the marriott." |

| "On the whole, we enjoyed our stay even if the service was not befitting a 5 star hotel, for ex: there was no newspaper even after they asked us what complimentary newspaper we wanted. We had to ask for it again. Hot water pot in room was not working and we had to make 3 calls before it was finally changed. Still these were all small things, and the bed was the BEST we've slept in, with an ABUNDANCE of pillows. The most upsetting incident was: we asked the concierge to arrange for airport shuttle for our departure date. Our flight was for 1PM and the concierge said we would be picked up at 11:40AM. Even if it was a domestic flight, I expressed concern that it might be a bit late, but concierge said "Oh these guys know what they're doing." Bottom line: We missed our flight, bec we got to the airport at 12:30. The question remains as to whether it was the concierge's fault or the shuttle bus company's. So: for those who arrange for airport shuttle, don't let them tell you what time they should pick you up. Make your own calculations." |

| "I was travelling on my own and I was glad to get a bigger room than the one I booked. The staff at reception were very welcomy and the harbour view from my room was fab! The room service was also excellent and the location is just perfect, only a few minutes walk from the harbour and from the shops." |

| "I booked a de-luxe triple room. We were given a basic double room that was only set up for 2 people. We were told that no other rooms were available so had to settle for additional towels etc. Three ladies travelling together, two of us on extended holidays left no room to unpack our luggage. We had one small wardrobe and no drawer for three people. It was very disappointing and spoilt our stay. The staff and hotel in general was good.
