| "Centrally located hotel, grubby in need of complete overhaul.
maybe demolition would be the best option, definately not value for money." |

| "I stayed in one of the renovated studiio rooms facing Hyde Park. The room was an impressive size and decorated in typical, contemporary browns. Decor managed not to look too cheap or tacky as is often the case with this particular flavour. Kitchenette was functional for making a simple meal, but lacked the facilities and utensils to cook anything really impressive. As in most hotels with a kitchenette, there was no sharp knife and only a dodgy corkscrew. The bathroom is well lit and clean, but our bath tub didn't drain properly meaning one had to take a shower in ankle deep water. Service on check in and check out was efficient, and staff went to great detail to explain the special arrangements in place for Mardi Gras which was on when we stayed (and our reason fro choosing this hotel - we were lucky to have a room with a reasonable view of the parade). | "The staff were very friendly, room was great, location was perfect.
I will not stay there again as the noise was too stressful. I would highly recommend that you double your windows i.e. a double glaze or something. I was presenting next door to you and did not sleep due to approx 10 sirens during the night and road maintenance. The actual windows looked old and it seemed a few area's were decaying / rusting which may have something to do with it
Are your rooms not facing College St any quieter. If so I could come back if not sorry." |

| "Not badly located. On Hyde Park, about 25-30 minutes walk from Circular Quay & 10-15 minutes from Darling Harbour.
Well-appointed room with good kitchenette in theory, but the room and equipment was in need of refurbishment/replacement - e.g. rusty fridge door handle, light fitting that flickered, tired looking bathroom. However, a refurb program is supposedly in place, though it hadn't reached room 1508 in time for us (Feb 2006).
Good rooftop pool/gym/spa etc. with nice views over Hyde Park. The staff in the relatively downbeat reception area are fairly helpful, and breakfast is fairly good." |
