| " This is the second time we have stayed at this particular hotel, in the last five years. It is situated right in the centre of The Rocks area and ideal location for all your travel needs. We actually arrived by Passenger Liner and had less than 100 yards to walk to the hotel. The hotel was clean and staff helpful. The bedroom and in particular the bathroom were tired and in need of some tender love and attention. The buffet breakfast was very poor and quite expensive." |

| "we always stay at this hotel when we are in sydney as it is central to and within walking distance of the CBD, Darling Harbour and the wharf. It is always clean and inviting, friendly and profesional.I would recomend this hotel to anyone visiting Sydney. We like it also because even though it is in the Rocks area and the middle of the CBD there is no noise to interupt a good nights sleep.Because it has been recently renovated everything looks fresh and clean. And we like the european linen and the kingsized beds. The diningroom is inviting and the buffet breakfast is of international standard. | "On the downside:
*bathroom is tiny and old
*aircon is really old and comes with a continuous loud humming sound
*TV in our room was defect: sound skipped from mono to stereo every few seconds (we didn't bother to have it fixed as only stayed a night)
On the upside:
*location, location, location: you won't get it for THIS price anywhere else, imagine walking to the Harbour bridge, Circular Key and the Opera House comfortably (in heels). We even walked into the city to the shopping mals in 15 minutes.
*Staff are a delight to be around: very helpful and tend to your every need.
*The breakfast buffet (for only $24 for 2!! they had a special on): probably the most delicious one you can get in a middle class hotel, but to be honest, I can't imagine what a top class hotel could have added to their buffet (except caviar maybe). And sooo cheap for Sydney standards!
ALL IN ALL:
We would stay there again. After all you go to Sydney for sightseeing and not to spend your days in a hotel room. The room and bathroom were clean, which is all you need, and you could not hear traffic noise at night either. Who cares about a malfunctioning TV if you've got Sydney to explore. And a good breakfast to keep you going for as long as possible is so vital when exploring. If you stay in Sydney for 1-4 days, definitely stay there.

| "Perfect location for tourists, superb breakfast and good evening meals. Very good service, the desk staff went out of their way to sort out a problem we had with the Sydney marathon and being picked up for a trip to the Blue Mountains, well done. I would recommend this hotel very highly." |

| "we stayed at the Old Sydney Holiday Inn with our 16 month old and 4 year old. We had a wonderful stay, The staff were very helpful, even lending us a stroller for our stay and lending us umbrellas when we had brief shower of rain. The room we had was small but fine. Very clean. We had a travel cot put in there for our baby which obviously took up some space. The breakfasts were plentiful and there was a great choice of food, We loved using the roof top swimming pool - the views are amazing!
We even requested a room with a balcony and got one even though there are only 5 rooms with them in the hotel.
We would recommend this hotel without any hesitation as the location in the Rocks area is so central it's wonderful. You can get to all the main sites within a couple of minutes walk from the hotel.
Wonderful stay - if we are ever lucky enough to go back to Sydney we would stay here again without a doubt.
