5/5  Posted by MRS. FENNER, Suzan, United States in January 2008
"We stayed in a two bedroom suite. The room was spacious and had very nice facilities. It had a whole wall of glass that looked out over our balcony and then to the Sydney Harbor and Sydney Harbor Bridge. It was amazing to watch the sun set on the harbor. The staff was great and went out of their way to make our stay very enjoyable. I recommend this location to anyone who wants to see Sydney at its best."

"Everything about this hotel was perfect from the very first contact with the staff who was incredibly helpful and friendly to the exceptional accommodations. The suites were very well appointed and maintained. The amenities were first class - very comfortable bed, great shower, and big plush towels and linens. The balconies overlooking the Sydney Harbour was the best! We did not eat in the restaurant at the hotel but ordered room service one morning and it came quickly and was very good. The whole hotel was imaculate. So glad we chose this hotel and would highly recommend it as it was so closely located to most all the main attractions of Sydney."

"Nice sized room with a nice kitchen, small dining area, good-sized living room, little balcony with table, a good-sized bedroom, good-sized bathroom, and decent closets. Overall, very convenient and comfortable living there for our first 6 nights in Sydney (and Australia for that matter). Great to have breakfast on the little balcony facing the harbor. The staff were all very nice and helpful (concierge, valet, maids) and the rooms were kept quite clean. The only down-sides is quite a bit of noise from the ferries (on the harbor side) but okay with ear-plugs, and the gym is quite small and worn-out, as is the pool. But location and size and general convenience can't be beat if you get a good price."

"Overall service was excellent, from the front desk, room service to kitchen. Services were very prompt and staffs were very approachable and friendly. Very convenient location. With the ferry terminal and train station around the corner, and taxies readily available, we could go places without any hassle. We will definitely come back! "

"We stayed at the Quay Grand Hotel as we were holding our wedding at the MCA, which is just across the Quay. The hotel itself is in a fantastic location and the rooms are quite lovely as well. The views from the balcony are out of this world. However, the big let down is the service you receive at this hotel. The staff themselves are lovely but you just don't receive the level of service you expect from a 5 star hotel. For example, when we checked in we were told that the bell boys were not available so we had to unload all our luggage onto the trolleys ourselves. We also told them we were on our honeymoon but all we got was a `congratulations'. For the prices they are charging you would have thought, they could afford at least a fruit basket! "

"This hotel is in the perfect location with balconies sitting right on the harbor--a wonderful way to have breakfast in your robes! "

"Undoubtedly one of the best locations in Sydney, with views across Circular Quay to the Sydney Harbour Bridge and within walking distance to some fabulous restaurants, The Rocks precinct and the Opera House. The rooms are very spacious and a balcony is a must to really enjoy the views and atmosphere. The staff is firendly and helpful."

"Facitities and services are limited, not commensurate with a five star hotel. There is better value with nearby hotels like Four Seasons and Shangri-la. It is also noisy due to proximity to ferry terminal, and the height of the building (we were already on the top floor, farthest away from the ferries). We paid for breakfast in advance, but ate there only once due to limited choices and quality. We did not ask for refund, even though we probably should have done so. "

"I was dismayed and disappointed when viewing our invoice to find that breakfast was included, I hadn't realised this when booking the accommodation and as no mention was made of breakfast when we checked in(where it was served what time etc or even that it was included)we eat out both mornings. Dismayed that we'd paid for something we hadn't received and disappointed because I would like to know what a typical Australian breakfast was like or even an untypical one! So for future clients of the hotel I think the staff should point when breakfast is included in the booking and where and when it is served."
