The position is superb for views, but it does take some walking to get back into the centre of the City either round Circular Quay or UP over The Rocks. Staff are attentive and friendly. Appears to be very popular with local companies to host smallish conferences and so the lobby area can sometimes feel as though you too have become part of a conference mellee. Overall though, the experience was very pleasant and we would definitely consider going back.

| "Overall we had a pleasant stay and were happy with the service we received from the staff at the Sebel Pier One, Sydney. I would most likely stay there again however I would be more specific in requesting a room with water front rooms. I feel the rooms on the 2nd floor particularly to left side of the building do not offer views that could be advertised as 'Superior Water Views' and the price should be adjusted accordingly." |

| "We arrived in Sydney around 8.15am Saturday morning. We tried to check in but as the hotel was full the day before we were given a courtesy room which was dark and warm. We decided to go for breakfast and explore awhile, mainly to keep awake. We arrived back at the hotel at 11.15 am and waited till 1.30pm to get our room, what a disappointment. The room was tiny and dark,but clean. We didn't expect luxury but there was no wardrobe space and two drawers, so we lived out of suitcases for the week. A number of times we were not given any towels, we had to phone reception and ask, and on leaving the room one morning I asked staff if they could ensure we were given fresh towels and if the room could be vacuumed. The location of this hotel was its saving grace,the Rocks was an ideal location to see the city. However the tiny room and disinterested staff, was not what we expected in Sydney." |

| "very very poor service, also out of the 2 rooms that i booked both were very unclean had to complain on numerous occassions the manager who came to view both of the rooms and agreed that they were indead in need of a good clean. Level of service very bad went to have a drink in bar area and every table was covered in dirty glasses and plates with 4 bar staff standing behind the bar doing nothing.
mini bar fridge was not stocked up daily also the previous guests have finished bottle of water was left in there!!
When room was cleaned no towels were replaced again we had to go to manager.
In the end he gave us a substantial discount due to a the problmes we had.
THe only good thing about the hotel is it's fabulous location." |
