| "The staff were all very helpful, however I would recommend this hotel for short stay only, there was only limited storage facilities for clothes in the room ie 1 small wardrobe with no draw space. We had breakfast only one day,ate out the remainder of the stay.. This hotel is beginning to look tired. (stayed in this hotel 8 years ago, does not appear to have been upgraded since)" |

| "The location of the hotel is very good and it is just a few steps away from the station and the many bus links. It is also a short 10-15 minute walk to The Rocks,Circular Quay and the Pitt Street mall.
The general areas in the hotel are fine but the rooms are looking a litte tired and dowdy, but they are clean and do the job. Internet access is expensive and the cable tv only provides a few additional channels apart from the free to air channels." |

| "Myself and my two children spent 23 days in Australia in 5 different cities recently. After much research, we stayed in Sydney at the Menzies at the begining of our vacation AND again at the end. Although I felt the rooms were a little small, the hotel staff were very helpful, informative and quick to respond to any requests we made. We were able to check in early, very muched appreciated after flying for over 20 hours! The best thing about this hotel in my mind was that you could walk (approx. one train stop)to the Opera House, Sydney Harbour Bridge, & Aquarium, shopping at the QVB (Queen Victoria Building) movies and restaurants. Organised tours pick you up outside the hotel and the hotel is right across the street from a train (subway) stop. (No noise). As a result you do not have to rent a car or take taxis. Also across the street in the train station are shops where you can buy food & snacks (to keep expenses down) to keep in the in room mini fridge. Ask for a room facing the street, some rooms face the back lane. Would recommend this hotel." |

| "We stay at Menzie for 3 nights. At first, we got a room with no window to the street. After asking for room changing, the hotel changed the room that have window expose the street for us.. Thank you.
The location is very good, near everything and opposite the train station..
The overall room is 3 star plus, but location is 5 star.
We asked for a bit late check out (unchargeable) at 1.30 pm as our flight is 4 pm. The hotel refused for the complimentary, even we stay for 3 nights." |

| "Special thanks to the concierge on duty, Thomas. He was ever so helpful, probably the best ever. Rerceptionists good too. The room service food was really lovely, hot, fresh, well presented reasonable etc. We did report trouble with our swipe cards, felt it was the door rather than the cards. Still wasn't fixed after our four night stay. Location is excellent for public transport which was what we wanted.
I am familiar with Accor hotels and honestly feel that they are over-rated and expensive for what you get room wise, but the service and food were excellent. We intend to stay there again because of the concierge and the room service. " |

| "My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Menzies and would not hesitate to stay there again. The comfortable and traditional atmosphere was perfect. Service was top class from the Concierge Andrew and his staff as well as the desk staff and breakfast and dinner restaurant staff. The location also made easy walking to many attractions." |

| "I found the hotel to be a great value for the money. It is very conveniently located to the train station for quick and inexpensive access to the Airport. I was surprised that the hallways to the rooms were a bit drab and dreary, but the room was very nice and pleasantly quiet considering there was a large tour group staying on my floor. I did have repeated problems with the magnetic keys. At one point Hotel staff gave me access to my room without asking for ID - perhaps a security issue? I tried to eat dinner one night in the hotel restaurant - but was not acknowledged so I left. The next night things were different but service was still a bit off, but the food was good. Overall a great value for the money both in terms of location and cleanliness of the room." |

| "Great location. Five minute walk to the Rocks / Harbour Bridge etc. Also, you are right opposite the underground station - Wynyard station. So it is very easy to get anywhere.
Very nice hotel, clean rooms, nicely decorated, staff seemed OK, but we didn't really have the need to deal with them much.
Downside is that the internet cost money. In my opinion, it should be free!
We didn't spend much time in the hotel (didn't eat or drink there, or us its facilities much) so didn't get involved much with it, but we would definitely stay here again because of the location, and it is a nice hotel.
Stayed: Feb 2006." |
