Our Bed and Breakfast is located in the heart of Santa Teresa, the city’s charming historic district. This 1960’s mansion was the former residence of the governor of the State of Rio de Janeiro. It features a swimming pool and 1700 square meters of gardens with small monkeys, butterflies, fruit trees and many rare flowers and plants of Brazil.The owners are a musician and a filmmaker who are passionate about Rio and Brazil, and are happy to pass on their local knowledge and travel tips.Santa Teresa’s cultural life, bars, and restaurants are only a few minutes walking (stumbling!) distance away. Five minutes down the hill takes you to Lapa, the home of Samba and Rio’s best bars, nightclubs and music venues set in the picturesque streets of colonial Rio.The beaches of Ipanema and Copacabana are a short ride away, as is the Cristo Redentor.We are very well served by local transport and the famous antique cable car of Santa Teresa.The three rooms are in a separate part of the house overlooking the swimming pool.
