The Hotel Cambodiana is definitely a beautiful hotel with a great location, however, the service is substandard. Several members of the staff--particularly the doormen, the receptionists, and the waiters and waitresses in the hotel restaurants--need to be reminded that their job is to serve the hotel guests with warm hospitality, not with some sort of attitude problem. Considering the employment situation in Phnom Penh and most of the country, Hotel Cambodiana employees can consider themselves fortunate to work at such a place, but this doesn't mean that they can be cocky and walk around with an air of superiority. They must remember that proper service and attitude to the hotel guests are essential if the hotel wishes to survive and be competitive.

| "Great location close to the Palace and the river festival. Yet the hotel was a sanctuary from the crowds. The pool was wonderful and the staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast up stairs with the concierge floor rooms was good and you could order custom omletes or eggs. " |

| "We booked and paid for a De-Luxe room. If this is what their "Deluxe" rooms offer, I shudder to think what the "Superior" rooms must be like ! Generally the Cambodiana is a very old, worn out, tired hotel. The room smelt musty throughout our stay and even though we requested a non-smoking room, it seems they do not have any available. It must be said that some of the staff put in a sterling effort and the food in general, is devine ! A "must try", is the bakery. It is EXCELLENT ! The location is superb, right on the river front. Very cheap and easy Tuk-Tuk & Taxi transport all over the city. Generally, the experience sucked though. Would most likely not use this hotel again." |
