"Bring your earplugs! It's not just the all night street noise that'll keep you awake - but the chairs, table and beer kegs being dragged around the FCC bar in the early morning hours. It may not affect every room - but it would be good to be warned ahead when booking."

"Well what can we say about the FCC, absolutely fantastic and thats not saying enough. We stayed in Kbal Spean room which opens to front of hotel, plenty noise but right in the thick of things. We never had any problem sleeping. Room fantastic and breakfast served above room in bar area, an incredible setting for brekkie and the food was great too. We loved this place and will return ."

"Great view of the river from the FCC restaurant. Short walk from the Royal Palace and Museum. Room was clean and comfortable. The staff at the front desk were exceptionally helpful in reconfirming flights and hotels etc. Breakfast was tasty western food, although not lavish (it was not a buffet style breakfast)."

"Location and atmosphere are unbeatable. Bayon Room is spacious, bathroom surprisingly modern in design. Air conditioning unit right above the bed, which results in unpleasant cold air stream. Noise from the street and from the restaurant on the floor above can be a slight problem. Service is adequate, staff friendly and helpful. "

"The FCC Hotel/Bar is in a great location, sitting in the heart of the cafe's and nice bars etc and looking over the river. It is without doubt a great place for tourists to come and have a drink. It suffers from what seems group tours during the day so can get very busy. As for the hotel, the rooms we had were the Ta-Som and ??, cannot remember the name and none of the rooms on the website look like it. The first room (??) was up the main stairs leading into the FCC. On first entering the room looked very nice. Big bathroom with walk in shower and then a smaller bedroom with double bed. After unpacking and having a closer inspection I found the following:- 1. Top sheet on bed dirty and stained. 2. Middle draw of three come off the rails and wont go back on. 3. Toilet seat almost falling off. 4. The room was generally tired. I complained and my sheets were replaced straight away but for the whole stay the draw and toilet seat we never sorted. The bathroom had a walk in shower, this was a little tough to get the temp setting right but OK. The main problem was that as it was walk in, the water ran everywhere. Within a few minutes the whole bathroom floor was covered in water. I would say that the 2 drains were too slow to take the water away. This made is very slippy under foot and not nice when you are trying to get ready. We stayed for 2 nights and both were very dissappointing due to the fact that directly outside the window was a family building a small house/room? Both mornings at 7am you would be woken by noise. Drilling, banging etc. Due to the windows being contempory/original they offered NO sound proofing whats so ever. It really was as though the window was wide open. Not a good room! The second room which was Ta-Som was around the corner from the FCC and up some steep stairs off the street. A little unsecure to say the least! This room was big and had a nice shower/bathroom, great bedroom area and a superb balcony looking over the river (side on). The only issue with this room was that the A/C would not work properly. We had the staff in a number of times but we could never get it to work. Hot and sticky nights!! Overall I would say that the FCC is in a great position but its overpriced and the rooms need some maintenance. "

"Amazing room! We had kbal spean room with a beautiful bathroom and balcony overlooking the river. Fabulous service. Great restaurant and views. Definitely staying here again!"

"Overall, nice hotel with a good feel about it. Great location, nice staff, excellent restaurant/bar facilities. However, on arrival we noticed that the bed sheets had not been changed from the previous occupant. We complained and the matter was quickly recified, accompanied by profuse apologies. After this small setback, the room was always cleaned immaculately. In addition, the bath surrounds in Mebon room are poorly designed which results in the floor becomming soaked whenever the shower is in use. "

"We stayed at FCC Phnom Penh for 3 nights in September and wish we had stayed longer. We stayed in the Directors apartment and it was perfect as we travelled with our 14 year old daughter and she had her own bedroom. We even had our own lounge area. The balcony gave us an insight into the way life goes on in Phnom Penh and the breakfasts in the restaurant were exceptional. The staff were friendly without being in your face. Our television did not work, but that didn't matter as we were too busy looking outside at the real world. The location is brilliant. Watching the sun rise on the river was awesome. The place really had a buzzy feel to it. It is not a spot for the feint hearted as it is hectic and busy and noisy at night. We loved the vibe. We would definitely stay there again."

"Hotel was very clean and rooms and facilities have an understated sophistication about them. Location on the river is excellent and the service was excellent, especially Picheany, reservation manager. She spoke English perfectly and helped us resolve a reservation problem made thru another web reservation company. I'd like to comment on how smoothly our reservation was handled and we will definitely book thru Asiarooms again."

"The location of the FCC is absolutely superb. Right along the Mekong, close to the centre of town, it really does not get better than this. The rooms are very swanky and elegant, every room is named after an Angkor temple and has pictures of this temple in the room. We stayed in 2 rooms; the first was the Bayon which is one of the most expensive rooms. It is really nice, and the best part is the balcony (with ceiling fan!) along the Mekong. The other room, Ta Som, is a bit smaller but not less nice, with a bathroom and in particular a shower that is just great. The hotel is a bit expensive but the location is top notch, if you can afford it definitely stay here. The bar of the hotel is really nice as well, nothing better that a nice drink along the Mekong at the end of the day. I would not recommend eating there, the menu is boring and uninspired and extremely expensive."
