We were treated to a pleasant surprise at Angkorland! They had a lovely lobby hostess who greeted us with drinks and warm towels. After checking in (which was really quick), we were shown our room. It had a personal touch with roses and orchid petals on the bed. Even the bathtub was filled with water and petals - it was fantastic! We felt very welcome. The room was small but clean and pleasant. Some advertised facilities like the library, spa and sauna were not yet ready but the pool and gym were adequate for us.
Staff members were always smiling and ready to be of service. All very friendly. We advise against getting the hotel to call for extra services (ie cab, tuk-tuks, massage services) as hotel staff gets a cut from the operators for every recommendation and this cost is borne by guests (and they don't tell you this).
Otherwise, the hotel is pleasant and is centrally located so we could walk to the Old market and Pub Street.

| "The only problem with this hotel is the water pressure and the fact that they seem to turn the power off in your room when you go out for the day!, they promptly turn it back on when you ask and seem embarrassed. But this being said, Siem reap must be struggling with the Sudden influx of tourism, so therefore the water and power does seem to suffer. As i whitnessed these power failures in shops and restraunts. The staff where very helpful and tried very hard with the language, All in All a great stay. But would be less impressed had I gone in the peak season and payed peak season rates,
