Would I stay at this location
again:

Absolutely!
we stayed in the hotel last november and was really happy with our stay! the location was perfect and was only a few minutes walk from town where the nice restaurants and shops are located. the room was adequately sized and we were happy with the bathtub and how the room was kept clean. although there was no pick up and drop off to and from the hotel, you can easily hop on tuk-tuks waiting out front! they served bread, bacon, fruits and hot porridge and the usual coffee and tea for breakfast- which wasn't bad! the pool is on its way and i think they're expanding the hotel! overall, it was a lovely stay and i'd recommend it! :)

"The room was nice enough, the swimming pool on the roof was pleasant & the location convenient, but the breakfast menu selection was mediocre at best. My big beef with this hotel, tho, was their false advertising. "Free WiFi in your room" was one of the main reasons I chose this particular hotel & they even advertise that proudly on their sign out front. Problem is, it's simply NOT TRUE. In the three days we spent there, neither my wife nor I could connect our laptops -- laptops we used with no problem both before & after staying there. There were plenty of signals from the hotel next door & other locations, but nobody was able to even tell us the name of the network we were supposed to log onto. Even in the hotel lobby, I was never able to connect until the morning we were leaving & that was the first time the City River network signal ever showed up on my screen. Just to see what would happen, I tried it again in my room right after that & got nothing. Free WiFi in my room was a big drawing card for me; not receiving it left me very dissatisfied with what was otherwise a decent enough hotel. If they're going to advertise it, they ought to provide it. I felt gypped. "

"Good location, nice staff, and clean room. If you stay here, be sure to visit the rooftop pool! Very refreshing after a day at Angkor."

"I was worried about the hotel because my taxi driver badmouthed it...He was very upset that they have a sign on their doors that asks drivers not to come inside-- I can see his point, but I also see the hotel's pov. They have hired bellhops and staff who open the door, carry luggage etc. and do not want outside drivers to do these functions....Anyway, the hotel itself was nice. The cafe/rest. could use with some updating in decor etc. but the breakfast met my standards..the room was very clean and the A/C worked well; the bed was comfy & there was a lovely balcony...the bathroom was a good size, clean and the water pressure was great! I don't take long showers so I don't know if the heat would last forever-- but for the five or so minutes I used it each day, it was great....the pool was lovely and the staff were very friendly...the free internet in the lobby was very slow but, it existed and was free ;)... my only complaint would be the noise from the construction- it was pretty loud at some times...but as I wasn't hanging out at the hotel for long periods, I was in and out...it wasn't a big deal...the location was great! "Overall it was a great stay. The photos make it look a bit fancier than it is, but I didn't really care. I didn't stay in a deluxe room, so I suppose I shouldn't expect much. The rooftop pool actually is as nice as it looks, though. It has a poolside bar and it's a great way to cool off at the end of the day. And although it is small, the hotel is taller that the surrounding buildings so you can see all around Siem Reap from the pool. The breakfast in the morning is pretty good, too! The biggest thing this place has going for it is the location. It's down the street from shopping and nightlife and only a short taxi ride from the temples. There is a hotel on the street behind the City River Hotel (I think its called Toria Moria?) where you can rent bikes for $2 and the proceeds go to charity. Across the street from the bikes is a huge massage place, too. The massages at the City River were the best ones I got during my trip, though. And they will come to your room at any time. The river is great too. It's also located next door to some really great restaurants, too. One of them has a sauna on the third floor where you can watch the stars in the evening- it's pretty outstanding. Staff was very friendly and helpful. There is internet access, but only 3 computers. The gym is okay-Just a few pieces of equipment to stay in shape. Basically a great location with a lot of bang for your buck."

"Staff were very friendly and attentive, especially poolside staff. Great variety of TV channels. Location close enough to shopping, meals, etc but still quiet, though walking at night on nearby streets with minimal lighting could lead to stumbles."
