3/5  Posted by MR. VALENT, Yoram, Israel in May 2008
"We enjoyed the hotel. However, we experienced two problems which were not treated in an expected manner. after the first night, we had to leave at 5am in the morning. we asked for a wake up call, and also confirmed with the front desk for a picnic box to be ready for us at 5am. The front desk confirmed with the kitchen manager the evening before. In the morning, we didn't get the wake up call (luckily, we woke up ourselves), and the picnic boxes were not ready. The person in the front desk (in the morning) had no clue about the picnic box order. in the evening, the front desk person confirmed that the order for the boxes was made, and that the kitchen forgot to prepare it. They said sorry, and that was it. I really expected more consideration and possible refund or other treat, especially after I explained the front desk that we ended up paying $20 for food outside that morning, because we didn't get the breakfast from the hotel. Thanks, yoram valent "

"Perfect hotel. Old colonial style, clean, fresh and absolutely best. Restaurant perfect, fresh hot bread, delicious food. Great swimming pool and statues around it (you must see this yourself :) ) And, I can't see any sighs of smoking in hotel - fresh air everywhere."

"It was a great moment by staying here. The room was so clean and everything was in a perfect order. Your staff is so helpful and friendly, but you have to provide them a better English training. The breakfast is just ok, because most of them are from pork. It was my first stay in Cambodia and Empress Angkor gave me a superb first experience to me and my family. Thank you for your great and outstanding services. Most likely I will choose Empress Angkor for my next visit."

"At the moments we arrived in Cambodia, we can’t wait to reach the hotel because we were too exhausted and we a bit surprised to see our room. It's a romantic feeling when they decorated my bed with flowers, filled the bathtub with flowers but I really appreciate if the flowers are roses instead of water lilies and the fragrance that they put in the room was so nice. The services was a five star, the staff are helpful, nice and always smile makes us feel welcome. But the buffet breakfast, it’s a bit poor as the foods that being served basically is pork. They should put more variety of the local food that doesn’t have pork as all tourists can enjoyed their local delicacies. Overall, we are happy and really enjoyed our stay in Cambodia; keep up the good work. Thanks for making my honeymoon and my parents honeymoon were unforgettable."

"Excellent hotel. Travelling distance to town was no problem because of excellent tuk tuk service. Staff very helpful. Only downfall was smoking was allowed throughout hotel. Will definately stay again."

"A good choice of hotel though on arrival the complimentary pick up from the airport was not to be found. I complained and was upgraded to a superior room. Can't really fault the hotel, nice rooms and services. Friendly staff. The fruit basket was not cleaned up or replaced on the second day of my stay, which was a bit sloppy. But overall, a good hotel to use as a base. Pool was nice too and would probably stay here again."

"We stayed at the Empress as part of our honeymoon and really loved it. They made us feel very special and put rose petals on the bed. The pool was really great for relaxing round and the staff couldnt have been more attentive or thoughtful. It was also amazingly clean! The hotel is about a three dollar ride (by moto-remorque) out of Siem Reap which is slightly further than we anticipated but actually it meant that it was nice and quiet and easy for the airport. All in all, a lovely place which we would stay in a again."
