Would I stay at this location
again:

Most likely
A beautiful, calm hotel with lots of atmosphere. Location is great for the temples but a little too far to walk to the centre of Siam Reap... although Tok Toks are readily available from the side of the hotel. Breakfast was fantastic (included champagne! - a great way to start off each day!!). Pool is huge and very warm... but very basic. We had a two year old with us, so perhaps a more family orientated hotel with more playful facilities would have suited us better. But all in all we loved the hotel, the staff were excellent (being greeted with a cold towel everytime we walked in to the hotel was a lovely and welcome touch).

"Beautiful hotel. Pleasant, courteous and helpful staff"

"Absolutely wonderful. A beautiful hotel with a great atmosphere, superb service, wonderful facilities and terrific restaurants. I can't think of a single fault. It's about as perfect as could be. I really, really love this hotel. It is absolutely 5 star AND has real character and history too - quite a rare combination these days."

"I'm sorry to say that the Raffles in Angkor does not meet the expectations linked to their brand name: 1. The rooms are quite spacious but rather diappointing in terms of design and style (we stayed in a Landmark room). Also, if you haven't stayed there before, you probably get the worst room allocated, which happened to us (we were not looking at the pool nor the garden, but on a street). Even after complaining we only got a room that was next to the originally allocated one, so no real change. If you spend a short weekend break there and if you are used to 5 star hotels, this experience alone is disappointing. 2. With the exception of the great customer relationship manager and the staff at the Elephant bar, the service is unfortunately also not up to the standard one would expect from a Raffles hotel. At the pool you won't get anything to drink unless you get yourself the menu from the pool bar. Nobody will proactively reach out to you and ask for whether you would like something. The first night we went to the outside restaurant for their barbecue but were told that there is no space. However, they could have easily added one spare table to the dining area which was half empty anyway. They didn't even make a counterproposal on where else to go. 3. If you expect to get some rest at the pool you can have that but only if you are resistent to noise: During the 3-4 hours we were resting there the staff pushed a noisy towel trolley over the terrasse at least 4 times. 4. The travel desk is not very competent. Being asked whether a particular tour would be feasible within one day, they told us that this is far too much. However, we did excatly that tour we had asked for and even had lunch in between without any hurry or time pressure. So if we had listened to the travel desk, we would have missed out some of the most interesting parts of that day's tour. In a nutshell: We were rather disappointed of the Raffles Grand d'Angkor."

"A very pleasant experience and stay."

"We had a fabulous 6 days in this lovely hotel. Highlights included the friendly but discreet staff service, and the outdoor dinner and traditional dance performance. My friend had her birthday during our stay and hotel staff organised (unrequested) a cake and singers for her as a surprise gift. Best of all - no big noisy tour groups !"
