As I have a 9 year old son with me, convenient access to suitable food places and sundries was important and this hotel fitted the bill. Despite being less than a minute's stroll away from Pub Street, it is surprisingly quiet . Pool, though small, is gorgeous. Internet , laundry service is just acosss the hotel and free wireless available at Blue Pumpkin (must not miss if you have kids) just 1 1/2 minutes away. Hotel staff very pleasant and smiled always.

| "The location of this hotel was perfect - it located just one corner away from the centre of Siem Reap where you have the markets and cafes/restaurants. The hotel is very clean and well maintained, and the service from all staff was wonderful even if we had communication difficulties as our Khmer was not that good and their English was a little limited at times. It has a very nice pool area where you can relax with a drink and a swim after a long day at Angkor Wat.
Very happy with the size of the room and the cleanliness of the hotel overall.
Breakfast buffet was okay.

| "Anyway-- short version-- it's an ok hotel-- has a pool-- located right now in the district that has restaurants and bars that cater to Westerners/tourists.
Long version- Some of the weaknesses of the hotel are probably inherently part of the Siem Reap experience rather than specific to that hotel: for example, service industry has grown wildly over the last 5 years so there are more bright and shiny hotels than there are trained staff to service them. Plus, due to the horrible effects of the Khmer Rouge (lack of) education system, most of your English-speaking hotel staff is going to be quite young, like under 25. There's also the issue of the lack of local expertise in items like internet and wifi. At the same time, most local people we ran into are good-natured and have warm Khmer hospitality. End effect-- getting some things fixed (like our room's interet hook-up) seemed to baffle the staff. But they understand the concept of customer service and good naturedly offerred to replace the cable between the wall and my laptop about 6 times before it was concluded that that may not have been the problem (!). Other typical anecdote: on checking out, the print an invoice for me-- it's mostly blank, with very little printing on it, but the desk clerk stamps it "paid" anyway. I point out that it's blank and the printer's not working. The desk clerk proudly says, "that's because the printer's out of ink." I smile at her a little, and turn to the guy standing next to her, who instead of looking like he's 19 like she does, looks like he might be all of 20. Plus he's wearing a tie, so he must be part of the 'junior executive traning program'. I show him the useless invoice, and he says, "it's out of ink." I ask, "Do you think someone could fix it?" He pauses and says, "I'd have to go get a new ink cartridge." I raise my eyebrows, hoping to indicate that maybe that might be a desireable course of action.
So as long as you're not in a hurry and not expecting the service of a business-oriented hotel, it's good for some laughs at least. The pool is nice and the breakfast buffet was pretty good.

| "The location is EXCELLENT! A minute walk to the old market and a turn to the infamous pub street. Walk to the night market takes only abt 10mins.
Value-for-money for the room size and location. The building is an old french colonial building complete with balconies for every room. The room is clean and well-kept except small details like the toiletries. I actually found a used toothbrush in the toiletries pack probably left by the previous guest, so best to run a check thru the toiletries before use. Other than that, its all great!
Breakfast is average, but overall service is good. Worth staying!" |

| "The location was perfect. Very close to Pub street and the bars and restaurants and the market. The hotel staff were very freindly and helpful. Breakfast very good. The swimming pool is enclosed and perfect for families with older children/ teenagers too.
Very good value for money and the bed was very comfortable." |
