Would I stay at this location
again:

Absolutely!
Beautifull stay. Helpfull staff. Ask for highest floor to have seaview. Good breakfast. Nice restaurant with good food for a acceptable price. One small point. We upgraded our room to have sea view. Asiarooms asked 14 dollar a night, but our credit card was blocked thanks to loss/theft. The hotel added four times 30 dollar!! The director( who lookes after our wellbeing very much) wasn't willing to change that afterwords. Pitty, but we will come back. One of the most beautifull locations in Sihanoukville. But ask for fifth flour!!

"Isolated, but the location and views are amazing. Staff are very friendly and overall I had a nice experience. There were times when it seemed like I was the only person staying there - the facilities and entire stretch of beach were often deserted except for the staff which was surreal. This is probably not the case in the high season. Rooms were very nice, although maybe not as posh as they are made out to be. Bathrooms are adequate. Overall I would recommend The Independence to anyone looking to get away from it all. People looking for nightlife and activities within walking distance might want to stay at one of the non-private beaches. "

"We did enjoy our stay here, it was quiet and out of the way although the town centre was easy to get to using the hotel bus. I missed not having affordable e-mail access some hotels we stayed in had free internet access. I loved reading all about the history of the place. Also the gym came in handy when it rained. I would stay here again all the staff were very polite, although they were all very young and still learning their jobs they were a pleasure and I'd loike to thank them all."

"As of September 2008 the Independence was still having a "soft opening" from 25 years of being closed. The grounds and the rooms were beautiful but the soft opening means there is still some construction (and no spa yet). The staff was wonderfully friendly. The restaurant had great food at very reasonable prices. The private beach was fantastic. Overall it is definitely worth a visit! One note- you must climb down/up a set of stairs to get to the beach so the hotel is not ideal for those with mobility issues (there is an elevator inside the hotel to get to the rooms). One small beef- why charge for wifi in the rooms? It was almost $3/hour."

"We just can't say enough positive things. This was delightful. The beach is beautiful, the hotel is new, fresh, clean, friendly. We lost power one night due to a terrific storm but they had the generator up and running in 30 minutes and even though power was still out in the area when we left the next morning we never new it. Food was excellent. "

"We enjoyed our stay here. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. Some may find the location a bit quiet but for us it was ideal and only a $3 bike ride to town. Beach was especially nice as was the pool. The grounds were clean and well maintained. As this a newly renovated hotel there are a few teething problems which management is working hard to correct. The gym needs some upgraded and extra equipment which is in the plans when the spa is completed. People expecting a spa should check to see if it is completed as it was not available when we were there. Highly recommend ASIA ROOMS as they proved in their dealings with us that they are a very efficient company"
