"very well located with ease of shopping and access to public transport. Overall, it is not great deal hotel ... not live up to 5 star valued."

"This is an excellent hotel. With lots of history. The room is very well organised, well equiped with all the necessirty. It is comfortable for family, especailly for seniors. The location is good, shopping, public transport. area of attraction are within walking distance. "

"Excellent overall. Breakfast really is A$31 daily each. The location is wonderful for shops,Forbidden City,Subway etc. Subway is easy to use. We had two teenage boys with us. They enjoyed it a lot. Beware of being gently enticed into the "art exhibition" where they will gently try to sell you some work that can be much more cheaply bought elsewhere. "

"Extremely disappointed - The lifts were dirty, the corridors were dark and dingy and was not impressed with the service."

"Not a good experience.  Frankly, I am baffeled how the Beijing Hotel is considered a five star hotel.  We were on our honeymoon and had requested a King size bed we arrived and were brought to a room with two single/twin beds.  The hotel would not do anything to accomadate (regardless of us paying more). The lobby, corridors and rooms are dated and require a serious renovation.  The room we had in particular had stained pillows and the water in the bathtub did not drain when having a shower.  M oreover, the staff was not helpful when asked to reccommend a nice restaurant in the area; we were directed to a near by foodcourt and had a horrific dining experience.  This was my second time in Bejing and regardless of the fact that the hotel is well situated - it was a poor choice of a hotel. "The Beijing location is great and the front desk officers are conversant in English. It is strange though that the health club requires all swimmers to wear swimming caps."

"The service is poor especially the front desk. They are rude and service is inadequate for western standards. I believe this is a government supported hotel, and the old adage, "this is good enough for government work," is appropriate for this hotel. Oh, by the way, if you run out of towels in one day, do not expect anymore even if it is 5 star hotel."

"Our only negative is the western food cooking in the lobby restaurant. Your Chinese cooking downstairs is first class."

"The stay in Beijing Hotel was really pleasant and comfortable. Checking into the hotel was efficient without much hassle as booking was already confirmed through internet. The room was so spacious and great for family with kids. The location was central and close to shopping and eating outlets. Would highly recommend this hotel to friends who intend to visit Beijing."
