| "Very nice and romantic hotel settled in an old chinese house, in Beijing traditional quarters.
Service is very gentle, breakfast ordinary, diner mediocre.
The decoration is nice but somewhat cheap, and the bathroom would bear some refurbishment.
When we were there the streets around were under demolition and taxis could not arrive to the hotel.
The location is not so central, but taxis in Beijing are cheap and very efficient." |

| "Very nice hotel in an old Hutong. Nice rooms in chinese style, some of them with private courtyards. very convenient to visit Beijing : not so far from the Forbidden City, tambour tower, lama temple, lakes and the most popular hutongs." |

| "Beautiful hotel with amazing courtyards. Excellent location. The bedroom staff and those on the front desk are extremly helpful and friendly. The service in the restuarant is poor and the restuarant staff are not very friendly. However this is not a problem as there are loads of great places to eat just around the corner. " |

| "This hotel was an interesting experience and fitted in with the trip to give me a feel of beijing. I am glad I only syaed there on for two days out of the ten I was there though as it was short on amenities. There was no fridge in the room which I found strange as every other hotel I have ever stayed in has had this facility. It was inconvenient when it came to drinks. The hotel itself is very nice and has a nice old style feel to it. Breakfast shouild be given a miss though..." |

| "From our initial welcome to the help with luggage when we left, the service was outstanding. Advice and personal assistance was available, in good English, at all times. The hutong is not an area for the obsessively tidy, but the hotel itself has such charm and the area such character that we long to return, and would recommend it to any of our friends. The only reason for staying elsewhere would be a fixation on iced water or kettles in rooms." |

| "We stayed in this hotel for three nights and would highly recommended it. The Chinese decor is lovely, the hotel is a good alternative to the western style hotels in Beijing with more than adequate facilities. If you are in Beijing only for a few days it is really nice to stay in hutongs as it would be easy to miss this great part of Beijing otherwise. There are also good tea houses in the area to visit. The reception staff was very friendly, spoke good English and we really appreciated their assistance with bookings to ensure that also the rest of our trip within China went smoothly. Just be prepared that some taxi drivers may not want to drive all the way into the hutongs but you can ask them to drop you off a short walk away on the main road (the hotel staff can explain if necessary)." |

| "Lackadaisical service, much like China twenty years ago, no hair dryer available. the best thing about this hotel was the small enterprise down the street that provided services and friendliness not found in the hotel." |

| "I think we got the worst room in the hotel. The room was tiny, with the double bed up against the wall, so the person sleeping on the inside couldn't get out of bed without climbing over the other person. Also, there was only one tiny window, way up high, so the room felt rather "prison cell-ish". The bathroom was recently remodeled, however, and somewhat made up for what the bedroom lacked. The hotel was in the process of painting the interior halls, so we had to walk over tarps to get to & from our room. The front desk service was very helpful, and they even helped us figure out how to use the local bus. I think this hotel is too "touristy" (we only noticed Westerners staying here), although the location in the hutong was kind of neat. We did not eat at the hotel restaurant, as I felt it was too pricey. Local restaurants nearby were a much better bargain. Overall, I was disappointed in this hotel, and I felt it was overpriced for what we got." |

| "Gorgeous. An old-world hotel furnished in Chinese style, located in a refurbished courtyard-style house in a hutong. The hotel is clean and the staff pleasant. I look forward to returning." |

| "Very nice hotel, really authentic, historical location in middle of the old beijing area -- "hutong". 50 rooms very well decorated.
Restaurant and breakfeast quite expensive for the budget travellers otherwise all facilities are good.
Standard rooms are small and a piece of advice all rooms facing the main street are noisy.
I am loking forward to going back anyhow.
