Despite some of the previous reviews having commented on the breakfasts at this hotel, we found them to be excellent - a huge selection and all freshly made, whatever time we went. The service at the hotel was very efficient - we had booked a double room but were given a twin, but this was changed without hesitation and our room was huge, very comfortable and clean. We were glad that breakfast was included in our price since other meal prices were very high (compared to local prices) but there are plenty of cheap restaurants and/or street food very close by. The location is excellent; 15 mins from Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City and 10 mins walk from a metro stop. We were in Beijing for 10 days after a long tour of rural China and this hotel definitely provided the comfort and pamperment that we needed - highly recommended!

| "We arrived about 10:30 pm to find no hot water in our room. Next morning we contacted Housekeeping, who sent someone to fix the problem.That night there was no hot water again, and Housekeeping's advice was to run the water for 15-20 minutes - very hard to do when you are from drought-stricken South Aust! However we did get hot water in the end. Next morning we saw the Duty Manager, who checked the situation and decided to upgrade us. So we spent the next 3 nights in a beautiful room on the 17th Floor. Consequently we have nothing but praise for our treatment at this Hotel. The service they provided,the superb breakfast each morning, and the friendly and efficient staff throughout the establishment made our stay very enjoyable." |
