The manager informed me that our room was already remodelled. It did not look like it. The bathroom had black mold on the cauling around the bathtub.
Do not trust the opinion of the information service for the restaurants. One suggested a restaurant which was extremely difficult to locate for the taxi driver and the location did not look safe. The restaurant did not meet any expectations at all.
When we checked in at night, the people were not experienced at all! I was under the impressions they were going to accept RMB instead of charging to credit card like other hotels (as in Kunming 5 star hotel or Shanghai 4 star hotel)even though we reserved our room through online consolidators. Anyways, ask for the manager if you questions on your reservations.
The restaurant people lied! We requested a non-smoking area. Since there was no table in the non-smoking area, they directed us to a glass enclosed room and informed us that it was a non-smoking room when it was NOT. There was ash tray and it smelt of smoke; in addition, the guests occupying the tables outside this enclosed room were all smoking! We had to pass an area of smoke to get our food!
The hotel is conveniently located, very near Wanfujing walking street.
There is a sattelite office for China train company which really facilitates buying train ticket with only 5 rmb service fee.
This hotel is over rated as a 4 star hotel.

| "We arrived about 10:30 pm to find no hot water in our room. Next morning we contacted Housekeeping, who sent someone to fix the problem.That night there was no hot water again, and Housekeeping's advice was to run the water for 15-20 minutes - very hard to do when you are from drought-stricken South Aust! However we did get hot water in the end. Next morning we saw the Duty Manager, who checked the situation and decided to upgrade us. So we spent the next 3 nights in a beautiful room on the 17th Floor. Consequently we have nothing but praise for our treatment at this Hotel. The service they provided,the superb breakfast each morning, and the friendly and efficient staff throughout the establishment made our stay very enjoyable." |
