We had a very pleasant and wonderful stay at the Novotel Peace in Beijing, China. The location was perfect for first time travelers to Beijing because it was walking distance to Wangfujing shopping street and it felt very safe to walk around the hotel area, even at night. The service was perfect -- the doormen made sure the taxi drivers understood where you're going. They gave us little cards with translations of most places frequented by tourists in chinese characters and all you had to do was show the taxi drivers the cards to direct them to your destination. We requested for adjoining rooms since we were a family of four and got very spacious rooms upon our arrival. The only downside in the rooms was the airconditioning which we did not sufficiently cool the room. The buffet breakfast was great and had a lot of choices. We will definitely stay at the Novotel Peace the next time we're back.

| "The hotel rooms ( our room was in the main tower ) were very modern, the hotel is in a great location, close to shopping and great food. The staff were bar staff were friendly. Very impressed with this hotel." |

| "We arrived about 10:30 pm to find no hot water in our room. Next morning we contacted Housekeeping, who sent someone to fix the problem.That night there was no hot water again, and Housekeeping's advice was to run the water for 15-20 minutes - very hard to do when you are from drought-stricken South Aust! However we did get hot water in the end. Next morning we saw the Duty Manager, who checked the situation and decided to upgrade us. So we spent the next 3 nights in a beautiful room on the 17th Floor. Consequently we have nothing but praise for our treatment at this Hotel. The service they provided,the superb breakfast each morning, and the friendly and efficient staff throughout the establishment made our stay very enjoyable." |
