We have very bad experience and image about Holiday Inn West Century City Chengdu. The Front Desk staff is not able to speak English cleary and not helpful at all!!
On Sunday (20 May 2007) evening I call the Front Desk from my room to get information about exchange my USD into RMB, but they said they dont have any RMB. I asked whether he had any information or not where to get the exchange this night in Chengdu. And he hang up the phone while I have not finished my talk yet. So rude.
Then I go downstair to get the Front Desk again. I asked the same question again and he say didn't have any RMB at all... How could the International Hotel such Holiday Inn and located in the International Exhibition area, does not provide any local currency even USD 50??? I need this currency for my next morning 8am to have a taxi to airport. The Front Desk staff really have no emphaty to their customer need. We have to wait until next 9am morning.
The next morning, at 9am, the money exchange still didnt open!! It such a rush time because I must catch my flight on 10.50!! and it takes 45 minutes to get to Airport! The Front Desk Manager (Black Suit Man) had just nothing to do with our need! With no guilty feeling. At 9.15 the hotel money exchange open and told that he still have no RMB. Then the staff drop me walk to the bank beside the hotel. Then he left me alone there with Chinese Language and Chinese Writing that I didn't understand at all... Finally I have had exchange my USD to RMB until 9.45am with myself...
Then I got back to hotel to finished my bill. And the staff charged me for the stayed !! Since I have paid to my travel agency and had gave him the hotel voucher!! Sooooooo dumb!!! With my tight time and he is very not proffesional!! My Credit Card that used for Deposit, he forgot to tear the Credit Card Slip until I remained him!! How was will be if I didn't remain him to tear my credit card slip?? I will have charged RMB 2000 from my bank!
While I finished my bill, The Front Desk Manager (Black Suit Man) come to me and asked if I want to exchange my USD to RMB or not to him! What a silly!! He was doing nothing when I trapped to this case!!
And I take the taxi at 10am.. It such a really rushed time..
I really dissapointed with Holiday Inn West Century City Chengdu! I choose this Holiday Inn because I thought that this hotel would be the same with any other Holiday Inn Hotel in the world!!
Hope the management notice and concern about my case so others would not treated like me and my wife.
