| "Excellent service all over but rather difficult communication in the Restaurant. Unfortunately the shower curtain was brown and ugly and the carpet at the entrance of the hotel is old and should be changed.
Otherwise very good value hotel. I would stay again." |

| "We stayed here twice, enjoyed the room and breakfast.
But, most outstanding and exceptional was the help and care we received when we lost our documents before we checked in at the hotel for the second time. It was about 17 hours before our flight home to Germany.
We felt lost, it was Friday late in the afternoon and we don't speak Chinese.
Anyway, we got exceptional help from the assistant manager, Stone Wang. He stayed with us from 3 to 7:30 pm, took us to many police stations, air port etc, translated and cheered us up.
Later the staff at the reception, too, helped us a lot and showed a great understanding. An employee even accompanied us to the police station before midnight, where we finally got our documents back.
We are absolutely grateful and believe this has been an exceptional welcome, help and hospitality" |

| "We were most impressed with the cleanliness of the room and the courteous attitude of the housekeeping and restaurant staff. The buffet breakfast has a good variety and the Yunnan's famous noodles was my favourite! The hotel is central in location with shopping facilities at its doorstep. I would certainly stay here again if I visit Kunming." |

| "We appreciated this modern and comfortable hotel, very well located in Kunming. But we have to admit that this hotel has no charm at all." |

| "stay was pleasant. location is central. good for going to the bird and flower market. but to enjoy kunming better, i'd advise you to wander to the more peripheral parts of the city where you'll see horse carts on big roads mixed with the cars, roam the small alleys that sell roasted potatoes from ?barrel ovens.. and explore the small stalls set up at night in their residential areas...
back to the hotel: i loved the bathroom, tv channels and the view from window. breakfast is rather limited in variety though better than expected. =) staff are generally friendly.
unfortunately, on the last day, they accused us of taking from the minibar and replacing the drinks ourselves. =( it took a very long time to clear up the misunderstanding.
it's recommended if you want comfort and a good location. (esp if you don't speak chinese bec it will be hard to get around in the less central areas)" |

| "Just back from staying 3 nights at New Era hotel yesterday and found it a good experience.
Plusses: Great location, clean and well appointed rooms, good service from hotel staff, delicious breakfasts
Minuses: Shower fittings not working properly. Water pressure at shower rose poor. No hand bidets in W.C." |
