| "The people at the reception were rather businesslike, whereas the concierge and the bell boys were very friendly and helpful.
The lobby is nice but rather dull and quiet, but good for people wanting to avoid crowded lobbies.
The location is excellent overlooking the Nanjing pedestrian road.

| "Location perfect for shoppers and tourist. Sauna and massage are part of China culture but this hotel does not care about itver poor facalities if you are going to spend time in the hotel. its good place if you want to spend time in Shangai its only 50 meters to Nanjing road which is the best high ligt area in Shangai. | "I like the room and location. Only disappointment was the room was a little too hot for me. Checking with the hotel personnel, I was told that central air in the hotel was not turned on in April. " |

| "Location's perfect at Nanjing East Road.Walking distance to the Bund.(Approximately 15mins) Subway station at People's Square which takes less than 5 mins and only 1 station to Oriental Pearl TV tower. Room size for business(Smallest)is good enough for two.Don't expect much view from room as the hotel is rounded in shape and blocked by buildings. If view is a must for you, choose rooms facing Nanjing East Predestrain Walk, u could at least see buildings illuminate at night which is quite spectaclular. Many eateries around hotel such as Mac, Kentucky but try to venture into small lanes to eat their local shanghaiese food. Delicious and cheap! The only setback i felt about hotel was that the reception at the hotel need to polish up their service standards." |

| "Our stay at the Central Hotel was very good. The prime attraction to this hotel was it's location just off Nanjing Rd. and very central to all of downtown Shanghai. However, we were very pleased with the quality of the hotel, the room, and the available services. It exceeded expectation in many regards, and was very good value for the money (relative to what you would expect to pay in North America for a comparable room). Be prepared for a hard bed, which seems common at most Chinese hotels. One problem at checkout was the overcharge on the internet time, but this was fixed when questioned...otherwise, a very good experience at this hotel. We walked to many places in central Shanghai and across the tunnel to Pudong. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel, and I would book with them again." |

| "The location of this hotel is fantastic. It's near to major shopping areas in the Puxi area. An interesting stroll in the morning along NanJing Lu (Pedestrain Mall)as you get to see locals doing their routine. The hotel staff is pretty accomodating when we arrive very early in the morning. As they saw how tired I was upon arrival and my husband has called to make that request after we booked, they let us checked in early so I can sleep before my appt." |

| "This is a very good hotel choice for a city break in Shanghai. Truly **** by international standards. Room was large, modern, smart and very well appointed (7ft bed, plasma screen TV, fridge etc). Quiet & relaxed ambience in the hotel.
The location is fantastic - I didn't see a location in the city I would have preferred. Lots of interesting things in the local. Great for shops, restaurants etc. Metro stations for 2 lines an easy walk. The Bund an easy walk too.
The rate for this hotel was brilliant (we paid an average of £65/night - which is v competitive for the quality and location). Well done Asia Rooms!!" |
