The Central Hotel Shanghai is as it's name very central and only a few minutes walk from the central shopping and business area in Shanghai, so it is ideally situated for tourists and business travelers.
The hotel has excellent facilities and the rooms are large and clean.
There are a couple of drawbacks with this hotel.
The first being that the staff's command of English is quite poor considering the size of the hotel and the second is the quality and choice of Western food within the hotel is not good.
Having said that I would stay here again as this Hotel is very good value for money compared to other large Hotels in Shanghai.

| "The people at the reception were rather businesslike, whereas the concierge and the bell boys were very friendly and helpful.
The lobby is nice but rather dull and quiet, but good for people wanting to avoid crowded lobbies.
The location is excellent overlooking the Nanjing pedestrian road.
