The location is convenient for travelling on the subway. The Airport Shuttle Bus no. 5 to Pudong Airport is just at the back of the hotel. We stayed in the Plaza Wing, Holiday Inn Downtown Hotel. Since the weather was cold in March, the room was using centralized heating and no cool airconditioning, we had the windows opened. But our room was fronting a busy thoroughfare so you can hear the cars and trucks passing. Better to request for rooms at their Great Wall Wing. I stayed there once in June, 2004 and the room had individual aircon cool control. The bed was softer. But overall, the staff were helpful, food was good and the rooms were clean.

| "The ladies at reception had lousy service. We had requested late checked out and the receptionist snickle at our request. During our stay we would come back to the hotel room for afternoon nap, only to be disturbed by the drilling and banging of refurbishment that was taken place. The hotel is out dated and needs a good makeover. Definitely would pay a little more for a better hotel." |

| "This holiday inn is well located for public transport and to and from the pudong airport. For us this suited us very well to visit shanghai in only 2 days
Bkfst very well.
However the additional bed provided in the room was of a very very poor quality and not as expected for this 4 star hotel. Overall the wing we stayed in is due for complete renovation.
If one searches probably there are better hotels to be found for this price category hotel" |

| "Very good room and excellent breakfast (chinese, continental, fresh fruits, cheese, hot meals,...).
Travel desk is not efficient. Very friendly service.
Location very close to Railway station - ideal for travellers with using the train, but also close to a Metro/Subway station." |

| "The location is quite cental. Exactly in front of Train station. After 25min wokking, you will stay already by People square, entreance Nanjing road.
The Breakfast was poor, poor quality and everyday the same choice. Service staff not really good organized.
Big challange with english, the most people are not speaking english at the Hotel. From the Pudong Airport it's 1.5 hours fare away with Taxi. Taxi is cheap and very fast. Just the english is the biggest challange. Make surr you can get the Chinese name from somebody or get it from a book, so you be able to show it the Taxi driver.
Shanghai is a great City with a lot of high tech in city and nice shopping mall." |
