The hotel is centrally located although not may taxi drivers appeared to know it. The food choice is vey limited so i would recommend you always eat out.
The rooms are adequate but a bigger problem is that with 19 floors and only 2 lifts, there is a lot of waiting.
The staf although pleasant had very little English between them.
This hotel is more ideal for budget travellers who do not expect too much!

| "Calling it Magnificent was not a good idea. It was not a bad hotel, just that there was little to commend it. The staff tried but were not that helpful.
Breakfasts were ordinary and there was no restaurant facilities after 1530. This may be due to the extensive work being undertaken outside.

| "Location about 10 min walk from Metro, right opposite the Dongtai antique market with a cluster of old shanghai housing all around. There's a lot of contruction going on though, so I expect that even this might disappear in the next few years.
There's a lively street with delicious street food 2 streets away, and the old quarter is close at hand.
Room itself is average and nothing to write home about.
All in all, pretty good value for money." |

| "The service was excellent and the facilities were very good. The people in the hotel were friendly.
The breakfast though should include a bit of cheese for those who prefer a toast with some cheese and not chinese foods in the morning.
The location of the hotel is perfect for all shorts of explorations of Shanghai." |

| "This is my first time travel in shanghai, the weather was really cold there, about -2 to 4 degree C. Personally, i feel that the hotel room heater is not strong enough (not warm enough)and the shower is too weak.. In regards of the room size and cleanliness which are acceptable.
However, the location is good, it's convenient and cheap to take taxi to everywhere.
If you don't want to spend too much on the hotel expense, this is still a good choice." |
