I stayed in the hotel twice. The location of the Hotel opposite the People's Square is fantastic.The hotel was good value for the money, especially given its superb location near shopping, the Bund, Shanghai Museum and the subway.Overall staff are friendly and helpful - the staff behind the reception desk can understand English, although the concierge can't. Room is bigger than your average rooms sizes. Recommended - for location and convenience of getting around.

| "Pacific hotel is very good in term of location and its price. It is just about two minutes walk from Ren Min Plaza subway station.
For the two night that I stayed, the ventalition only supplied heat, no A/C was availalbe. I had to open the window for better ventalition while I was afraid people might get into my room thru it.
If one is looking for something fancy, romantic and nice. Pacific hotel shall not be recommended.

| "Good value for money. The best thing is the location. Only a minute walk away from the subway station and walking distance away from a few good Shanghai sites and restaurants. The old building is great to look at and easy to find again!" |

| "The hotel location is good.
The room size is ok for 2 people.
Room carpet is dirty with stains, toilet is old and room furniture is old.
Hotel staff specially those at the eatery are rude and don't understand english.
Receptionists are ok and understands english, though.
