We stayed for 3 days & 2 nights & though this hotel looked a bit old on the outside, it was a real gem as the location was perfect, right on nanjing road, opp. the subway and near the Shanghai museum & the bund. Eateries were available behind the hotel and the food was good too.Taxis were readily available & the front reception staff were friendly & helpful.They do speak some English which was helpful as I speak minimal Chinese.The room is small but hey, we were out the whole day & only returned to sleep.Clean sheets,clean bathroom & room & a kettle to make our own coffee/tea was good enough for us.One negative point was the room smelled of cooked food in the morning as I believe some guests must be cooking breakfast in their rooms.However,we will definitely stay in this hotel should we go to Shanghai again.

| "Pacific hotel is very good in term of location and its price. It is just about two minutes walk from Ren Min Plaza subway station.
For the two night that I stayed, the ventalition only supplied heat, no A/C was availalbe. I had to open the window for better ventalition while I was afraid people might get into my room thru it.
If one is looking for something fancy, romantic and nice. Pacific hotel shall not be recommended.

| "Good value for money. The best thing is the location. Only a minute walk away from the subway station and walking distance away from a few good Shanghai sites and restaurants. The old building is great to look at and easy to find again!" |

| "The hotel location is good.
The room size is ok for 2 people.
Room carpet is dirty with stains, toilet is old and room furniture is old.
Hotel staff specially those at the eatery are rude and don't understand english.
Receptionists are ok and understands english, though.
