| "Wow! What can I say? This was my first trip to China and Xiamen was the first destination. I had no concept of what to expect by way of accomodation in China as I booked online. The main reason I chose the Marco Polo was location and the recommendation of a friend who had good experience with a Marco Polo hotel. We travelled from the airport by cab to be greeted by the concierge staff who were courteous and very attentive and polite. We were escorted to the reception desk and our bags taken immediately up to our room as we checked in. The check in process was flawless and professional, we were made most welcome by staff who were courteous and spoke very good english. The faclities of the hotel were explained to us as we checked in and tourist information made available. The hotel is very modern tastefully decorated with great ambience, the lobby is magnificent with a vast open space, great bar and lounge area with a selection of exclusive yet unobtrusive shops adjacent. The room was superb for us, well decorated, great comfortable bed, superb view of the city over the lake and a beautifully appointed bathroom. The service here was excellent with all staff very attentive and helpful. The dining was excellent with a wide variety of cuisine. The staff were a diverse mix of people with multi lingual capability, we even met an Australian chef working there who had worked in China for two years.
The breakfast was superb with the greatest selection of foods I have encountered in any hotel available for breakfast. Dining was excellent and the restaurant staff excellent. I will be staying at Marco Polo Hotels in future they set a bench mark for others to match in my opinion. I have no problem recommending this superb hotel to anyone, our experience was fabulous, thankyou." |
