Could not find fault with this fabulously located hotel with a wonderful view of the bell tower if you are on floors 5 and above. Ask for one!! Pay the small difference but I got a free upgrade because my AC was not working properly in my standard non-veiw room. Buses everywhere to take you and tons of shops and restaurants and many modern buildings in the area, including a great dumpling place on the opposite street corner where the Drum Tower is on. Taxi must be hailed by the side street which is somewhat inconvinient but having an underground pedestrian way and not having to deal with traffic as a pedestrian was fabulous if you know how careless chinese drivers are. I was pickpocketed at the Wild Goose Pagoda vendors stall so watch yourself, have a money belt well hidden and don't buy anything there anyway. Xian is called "Pick Pocket City" but I didn't know it. Police were nice to take my report at the KFC there near the entrance.

| "We really enjoyed our stay, and breakfast was very good, with all the choices you could imagine.
We are however concerned at how often our towels were changed when they didnot really need to be changed.
Also Perfection would have been achieved if there had been x2 glazing, but we would not have got the flavour of city life in that case!" |

| "LOcation and the buffet breakfast - yes! However, the beds are as hard as sleeping on wood stands and the pillows are as thin and as lumpy ss I have ever experienced. The carpet is dirty, the rooms are small and the bathroom has no counter space to place your toothbrush. We spent two weeks in China and this was the only hotel that did not provide free bottled water - and you need it. If you want a hotel right inside the city wall, directly next the bell tower, right across the street from a McDonald's and KFC - this is the place. For me, I will pick a different hotel the next time I visit Xian - and I will be back to China. Too much to see and more time needed." |
