Facilities and staff were excellent at the Shangri-la Golden Flower hotel in Xian, and we found it to be very good value for money. The rooms were spacious but well equipped, and better than we expected to find in China. The hotel is a little way out of the city, but we found the walk in to Xi'an to be interesting and worth doing, rather than always getting a taxi.

| "We were delighted with almost everything at the Shangri-La. The tour they arranged for us to the west of Xian was outstanding.
Service in the hotel exceeded our expectations. The Chinese restaurant in the hotel was lovely and, for a luxury hotel like the Shangri-La, very reasonably priced.
Our only criticism was that the amount of available drawer space in the room was more appropriate for one traveler than for two. Otherwise, our room on the Horizon Floor was lovely.
For travelers with limited time, the location is very convenient for visiting the Terra Cotta soldiers as it is east of the city wall.
We recommend the Shangri-La Golden Flower wholeheartedly. " |
