| "A place to feel immediately home, a place with style and the air of old times - a place perfect after an intense day in the Egyptian museum to contemplate its wonders - if I would be in Cairo again I would never go anywhere else - as you can walk by foot to the pyramids and can see them from the hotel. It is magical. The staff is outstanding in kindness and helpfulness.
Having said all that - (it is not a boutique hotel with a perfect new bathroom and all that it is a place outstanding in character and dignity and so it has its wrinkles) - you must make sure to book a room in the Palace wing...as this allows you the full amenities of the this beautiful hunting lodge build by an Egyptian king which allows you to see the best in oriental architecture." |

| "we were there for my wife's birthday, and after dinner we had the surprise of a birthday cake in our room from the direction. we found this very nice.
The location is fantastic, the overall impression was very good, but there where two defects:
1. our room was close to a passage to the court, and we were annoyed by the ring of the metal detector the all night (maybe the room sound proofing can be enanched)
2. the swimming pool was dirty, with the floor greenish by waterplants. But the day after it was closed for manteinance, so it problably was a momentary problem" |

| "We stayed in Nov, the weather was great, cool of a night but warm during the day. We were VERY dissappointed in the Mena House, here are some things to consider. We would recommend to only book the suites or Pyramid View rooms, these face the Pyramids, all other rooms have no real view of anything. Our room was a standard room which looked at a brick wall. The rooms are in desperate need of a refurb - bathroom was terrible, mouldy, all elements hardly worked and very old. Bed had a massive bowe in the middle. The facilities are terrible....the gym is aparently open 24hrs - it isnt,it was even a hassle to get someone to open it for you. The pool doesnt look anyhting like the photo - you have to step down to even get into it, its small and very old. The restaruants are very expensive and the quality is VERY average. We had booked an extra day to just relax and enjoy the resort, but ended up checking out a day early. The only benefit to staying at this hotel is that its accross the road from the Pyramids. We would recommend staying in the city and just driving to the Pyramids...its only about a 20min drive and worth making your experience a little better than ours." |

| " Great location near the pyramids. Hotel is very beautiful and romantic with view of the pyramids but a long ways from downtown Cairo. Staff very friendly. We stayed there twice and loved it. Mogul room food good but overrated. Cookies in ther room everynight were great." |
